Most riders were aged 15–35 years (70%). Accidental falls represented the leading mechanism (78%), often caused by uneven or slippery surfaces or rider distraction; collisions accounted for 22% of cases. Only 36 riders wore a helmet. Incidents occurred throughout the week, with a peak on Fridays. Seasonally, 63% of cases occurred in warm months, particularly in September (87 cases). Craniofacial, maxillofacial, dental, or neurosurgical injuries affected 24% of patients. Orthopaedic trauma was identified in 79% of cases: the upper limb was involved in 205 cases and the lower limb in 129, with nine patients sustaining injuries to both. Overall, 170 fractures (49%) and 16 dislocations (5%) were recorded. The most frequent fracture sites were the wrist, radial head, clavicle, and proximal humerus in the upper limb, and the ankle, tibial plateau, patella, and tibial shaft in the lower limb. Surgical treatment was required in 27% of upper limb and 25% of lower limb fractures.</div></div><div><h3>Conclusions</h3><div>E-scooter use is associated with significant trauma, particularly among young adults, with frequent craniofacial and upper limb involvement. Arthroscopic capsuloplasty has progressively replaced open repair; however, the optimal soft-tissue construct to restore posterior capsulolabral anatomy remains debated. The purpose of this study was to report the clinical outcomes of arthroscopic posterior capsulolabral reconstruction using Lasso-Loop sutures combined with a capsulolabral “Bump effect” for chronic posterior shoulder instability. We hypothesized that recreating a reinforced posterior capsulolabral thickening would enhance posterior constraint and stabilize the shoulder.</div></div><div><h3>Methods</h3><div>This single-center retrospective study included 19 patients (mean age 26 ± 8 years; 68% male) treated between 2010 and 2020 for chronic symptomatic posterior shoulder instability without bone loss or glenoid retroversion &gt;10°. The standardized arthroscopic technique used Lasso-Loop sutures with 2.9-mm biocomposite anchors (Biopusclock®) to achieve an anatomic capsulolabral reduction and create a stabilizing capsulolabral thickening (“bump effect”). Functional evaluation included the Constant-Murley, Walch-Duplay, and Rowe scores, shoulder range of motion, the posterior jerk test, and the return-to-sport level (competitive vs recreational).</div></div><div><h3>Results</h3><div>All functional outcomes improved significantly. The Constant–Murley score increased significantly from 55 ± 10 preoperatively to 87 ± 8 postoperatively (mean gain +32; 95% CI 27–36; p &lt; 0.001). Similarly, the Walch–Duplay score improved from 41 ± 9 to 93 ± 7 (gain +52; 95% CI 46–58; p &lt; 0.001), and the Rowe score increased from 39 ± 8 to 92 ± 6 (gain +53; 95% CI 48–57; p &lt; 0.001). Clinical stability was restored in most cases, with the posterior jerk test becoming negative in 18 of 19 shoulders (95%). Shoulder range of motion was largely preserved, with postoperative external rotation reaching 85% of the contralateral side. A total of 14 patients (74%) returned to sports, including 8 patients (42%) who resumed their previous competitive level. One recurrence of posterior subluxation occurred in a hyperlax patient (Beighton ≥4). No intraoperative complications were observed.</div></div><div><h3>Conclusion</h3><div>Arthroscopic posterior capsuloplasty using a Lasso-Loop Bump reconstruction appears to restore the posterior capsulolabral anatomy effectively and provide satisfactory functional recovery in chronic posterior shoulder instability without bone loss or excessive retroversion.</div></div><div><h3>Level of evidence</h3><div>IV, Retrospective case series.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":100818,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Orthopaedic Reports","volume":"5 4","pages":"Article 100903"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2026-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"148746041","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Corticosteroid injection is the most widely used nonoperative treatment, though its effectiveness varies depending on patient and disease characteristics. This narrative literature review synthesizes findings from 33 studies evaluating corticosteroid injection outcomes, predictors of success and failure, comparisons with other nonoperative treatments, variations in injection technique and dosage, repeat injection efficacy, and rates of surgical progression.</div></div><div><h3>Methods</h3><div>A structured PubMed search was performed on September 1, 2025 to identify articles related to the outcomes of first and repeat injections for the treatment of trigger finger. Predictors of reduced success included multiple digit involvement, advanced disease stage, and metabolic syndrome. Notably, diabetes alone was not consistently associated with poorer outcomes. Higher corticosteroid doses (20 mg triamcinolone) improved short-term response (3 and 6 months), but long-term differences diminished with regard to this dose-dependent improvement effect (near equivalent with 5 mg, 10 mg triamcinolone at one year). This bibliometric review analyzes 384 Scopus-indexed publications on ACL injuries in football from 1993 to August 2025, highlighting key contributors, leading institutions, funding bodies, and influential journals, while mapping thematic trends and emerging research directions. Findings reveal a marked increase in research output since 2015, with the USA, Italy, and the United Kingdom emerging as major hubs, and strong international collaborations observed between the UK and Qatar, as well as the USA and the UK. Core research themes identified include ACL reconstruction, injury prevention strategies such as the FIFA 11+ program, rehabilitation protocols, biomechanical and sex-specific vulnerabilities, especially among female football players. Recent studies have increasingly focused on areas such as women's football, return-to-sport assessments, reinjury prevention, and performance tests like the drop vertical jump, hop test, and change-of-direction analysis. Moreover, there is a growing trend toward incorporating technology-driven tools, including wearable sensors, electromyography, and 2D video analysis, to enhance understanding of biomechanics and support personalized rehabilitation and prevention strategies. Future research should refine prevention strategies, emphasize female-specific interventions, integrate technological innovations, explore neurocognitive and motor control factors, and adopt multidisciplinary, mixed-methods approaches to improve long-term functional and psychological outcomes. This review provides a strategic roadmap for researchers, clinicians, and policymakers, synthesizing key contributions and trends in ACL injury research. By fostering global collaboration and methodological innovation, the field can advance toward more effective injury prevention, optimized rehabilitation, and sustainable athlete performance, ultimately promoting safer participation in football worldwide.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":100818,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Orthopaedic Reports","volume":"5 4","pages":"Article 100834"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2026-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"148746262","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Certain conditions, such as psoriasis or dermatitis, can trigger some serious instances of trauma.</div></div><div><h3>Objective</h3><div>This narrative review aims to map how these conditions contribute to surgical-site infections (SSIs), delayed healing, scarring/contracture, and functional or aesthetic impairment. Additionally, we hope to propose practical, interdisciplinary recommendations for preoperative screening and perioperative management tailored to elective hand surgery.</div></div><div><h3>Conclusion</h3><div>From this review, we saw an even bigger risk arises from the Koebner phenomenon. Specific disorders can exacerbate the risk of infection and poor wound healing, impacting functionality and even appearance. Despite efforts from various sources, a standard screening process in dermatology for patients undergoing hand surgery remains elusive. Therefore, future study on more effective collaboration and integrating preoperative procedures into hand surgery protocols holds the most promising prospect for addressing postoperative complications in dermatology, ultimately improving patient support.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":100818,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Orthopaedic Reports","volume":"5 4","pages":"Article 100862"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2026-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"148745576","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
