A new approach is presented for solution of multi-region bodies in which homogeneous separate regions are solved independently. This technique results in a considerable reduction in memory requirements over both conventional (explicit) boundary integral and finite element techniques. Furthermore, this implicit method is much easier to program than the explicit boundary integral techniques that treat multi-region bodies as a single assembly. Any number of regions can be accommodated with the implicit method.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":100474,"journal":{"name":"Engineering Analysis","volume":"4 2","pages":"Pages 66-69"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1987-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1016/0264-682X(87)90014-1","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81170862","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
