Platelet concentrates, as cytokines-enriched biological adhesives constitute some novel research fields. The first generation of these surgical additives, generally named cPRP (concentrated platelet-rich plasma), come from the autologous fibrin adhesives technologies. The different kinds of cPRP were tested in many clinical situations, particularly in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Moreover, the second platelet concentrate generation, the PRF (platelet-rich fibrin), offers the more efficient clinical applications. Indeed, PRF induces accelerated tissue healing owing to the development of effective neovascularization, accelerated wound closing with fast cicatricial tissue remodelling and almost total absence of infectious events. Occlusal equilibration is one of the steps of this procedure and is performed according to precise and strict guidelines. In fact, occlusal equilibration is not simply an occlusal correction since it has a direct influence on manducation rehabilitation and on treatment timelessness. Artificial denture teeth replace missing natural teeth on the dental arches, but also restore the patient’s aesthetics, and each of the perturbed functions (such as mastication, phonation, and deglutition). Prosthodontic rehabilitation of the partially or totally edentulous patient imposes the practitioner a difficult selection among the numerous commercially available artificial denture teeth. Incorrect determination of the OVD may result in failure of complete denture treatment. Many methods have been advocated to determine the vertical dimension in edentulous patients. However, there is no single precise scientific method for determining the correct OVD. These methods include the use of physiologic rest position, swallowing, phonetic, aesthetic, facial measurements. A combination of some of them is recommended for a simplified clinical determination. This organisation is based on the combination of different bacterial species, each of them having its own specificity and occuring at different moment of the pathology.
