But governments are taking steps to stabilise the world economy by introducing measures such as stimulus packages and tax breaks, and by increasing liquidity in the banking system. The G20 summit in London at the beginning of April was a positive move, with global money markets rallying in response to the progress made by the leaders of the world's top 20 economies. While certain application markets could bear the brunt of the downturn, it seems that others might actually experience steady growth. We talk to smart cards industry insiders to find out what they think the crisis means for our industry.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":100215,"journal":{"name":"Card Technology Today","volume":"21 4","pages":"Pages 14-15"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1016/S0965-2590(09)70097-0","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"92057790","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
