It has an indirect-band gap of approximately 1.7-1.9 eV depending on the crystal structure which makes it suitable for absorption of visible light and its use in solar batteries. Sb2S3 can exist in different crystal structures including orthorhombic and hexagonal structures. The crystal structure can significantly affect the electronic and optical properties, which makes it possible to adapt its properties for specific applications using crystal structure engineering. It also has great optical properties and high absorption coefficients in the visible and near-infrared regions of the spectrum and makes it suitable for use in photogalvanics and photodetectors. In this work gold nanoparticle functionalized with coumarin based fused-ring heterocyclic thiol exhibiting self-assembly is reported. The present work has been designed giving prior to pi-stacking mediated self-aggregation of nanoparticles resulting formation of larger superstructures. It has been established as a result of the carried out investigations that the introduction of the synthesized compounds into PVC composition improves the physical-mechanical properties, which has been connected with the availability of sulfur atoms, carbonyl groups and ether bond in the molecules of bis-adducts. It was shown that due to incongruent melting of the Sb2Te2S compound the system is non-quasibinary, but it is stable below the solidus and characterized by the formation of a continuous series of solid solutions with a tetradymite-like hexagonal structure. The lattice parameters were determined from powder diffraction patterns. The conditions for steel pre-treatment in an alkaline solution containing citrate ions and a nonionic surfactant, for the production of potassium liquid glass composition with the addition of zinc and graphene powders are selected. It is shown that coatings 70–80 µm thick, cured at room temperature for three days and containing 80–90 wt. % zinc, 7– 12 wt. % silicon dioxide and 0.2 wt. % carbon have the highest adhesion, water resistance and protective ability. The study of steel corrosion in 3.5% NaCl solution using methods of voltammetry and the dependence of open circuit potential on the test duration showed that silicate coatings filled with zinc and graphene provide cathodic polarization of steel and protect it from corrosion better than twice as thick coatings obtained by hot galvanizing. Graphene nanoplates enhance the contact of zinc particles with each other and with steel, promoting its cathodic polarization. Its composition and structure were established by physical and chemical methods of research. The regularities of radical homopolymerization reactions in mass and in benzene solution were studied with the aim of creating a new biocidal polymeric material for medical preparations. It is shown that polymerization under these conditions proceeds through the vinyl bond, without an induction period, at a constant initial rate without the formation of by-products, a monotonic increase in conversion up to 92% with the formation of a soluble polymer is observed. The composition and structure of the obtained polymer were established by elemental and spectral analyses. It showed that the polymer was characterized by a low toxicity at a significant biocidal activity towards E.coli and St.Aureus and that this polymer can be used in various fields, in particular as a biocidal preparation, a carrier of dosage forms in medicine. The composition and structure of the synthesized compounds were established by elemental analysis (AAS, C, H analysis), 1H NMR, IR, and UV/visible spectroscopy. In the IR spectra of these compounds there are absorption bands with ν(OH) =2910-3040 cm-1 and ν(OH) = 3080-3190 cm-1 , and in the 1H NMR spectra there are absorption bands with chemical shift values δ(OH) = 4.29-4.18 ppm for OH groups that differ in position and are due to the formation of intra- and intermolecular associates with the participation of OH groups. The electronic absorption spectra indicate the presence of characteristic absorption bands in compounds I-III at λmax = 270 (I), 278 (II), and 285 nm (III). It is shown that when samples are heated from room temperature to 700 °C in an inert gas flow, the residual mass of compounds I-III is 2.05, 20.24, and 66.96% of the initial mass, respectively, and these compounds decompose to form nanosized iron particles. /iron oxide and carbon. The gravimetric method was used to study the influence of the synthesized compounds on the corrosion rate of St-3 in various aggressive medium. It was established that the studied compounds inhibit the corrosion process both in single-phase acidic (0.1N HCl и 0.1N H2SO4), and in twophase (electrolyte-hydrocarbon) media. In the latter case, they are more effective - the corrosion rate of St-3 decreases from 2.1 to 0.06-0.35 g/m 2 hour, while the degree of protection against corrosion is 83.3-97.1 %. The studied compounds exhibit a greater protective effect in hydrochloric acid solution (97.1-92.45%), than in sulfuric acid (76.9-87.1%). It showed that an alternative way to obtain alkoxycarbonylmethyl esters of thioacetic acid is the reaction of mercaptoacetic acid esters with acetyl chloride in the presence of equimolar quantities of triethylamine. The interaction of mercaptoacetic acid esters with benzoyl chloride in the presence of equimolar amounts of triethylamine was used to synthesize appropriate alkoxycarbonylmethyl esters of thioacetic and thiobenzoic acids. We carried out studies on the extraction of nickel picrate (NiPik2) from the solid phase using solutions of tetrahalobicyclic reagents of the acetylene series with a dicarbonyl bridge in the side chain (L1, L2, L3, L4) of chloroform. New organic ligands were synthesized and their physicochemical properties - melting point, molecular weights, as well as their optical density studied. A new technique for the extraction-photometric determination of the nickel ion from the solid phase was developed. It found that new organic reagents (L1-L4) exhibit high extraction ability (0.11-0.64 mg/l) of Ni ions from the solid phase. When comparing the extraction activity of the studied reagents, it was revealed that the ability to extract organic ligands of tetrahalobicyclic reagents (L1-L4) changes in the following order: L4> L3> L1> L2.
