Pocius","doi":"10.13168/cs.2023.0021","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.13168/cs.2023.0021","url":null,"abstract":"Two different mix compositions were prepared to compare the effect of waste glass sludge, with and without a crystallising admixture, on the properties of fresh cement paste and hardened cement paste. In Composition 1 cement was replaced by different percentage of waste glass sludge: 0 %, 5 %, 10 %, 15 %, 20 %, 25 %, and 30 %. In Composition 2 the same cement content was used with the addition of the crystallising admixture added at 1 % by weight of the binder. The tests showed that the replacement of 20 % of cement with waste glass sludge improved the properties of hardened cement paste, but the properties of fresh cement paste deteriorated. The results of the tests with composition 2 containing the crystallising admixture showed that the crystallising admixture had a negligible effect on the properties of hardened stone, while the properties of fresh cement paste improved in comparison with the specimens without the crystallising admixture. The overall results showed that 20 % was the optimum amount of cement to be replaced with waste glass sludge and that crystallising admixture could be one of the solutions to improve the workability of the mixtures modified with waste glass sludge.","PeriodicalId":9857,"journal":{"name":"Ceramics-silikaty","volume":"13 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2023-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74731648","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"材料科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The carbonation depth of fully recycled concrete was tested at 3, 7, 14 and 28 days using the rapid carbonation method. The experimental results show that with the recycled aggregate replacement rate rising, the carbonation resistance of fully recycled concrete gradually decreases. CH pretreatment combined with CO 2 curing effectively improves the quality of the recycled aggregate, thereby improving the carbonation resistance of fully recycled concrete. The optimum effect of CO 2 curing on fully recycled concrete is achieved with the recycled fine aggregate replacement rate of 70 % and the recycled coarse aggregate replacement rate of 100 %. In addition, microscopic tests were used to reveal the enhancement mechanism of CH pretreatment combined with CO 2 curing increases the carbonation resistance of fully recycled concrete. Experimental data were used to fit and model the carbonation depth of fully recycled concrete formulated before and after CO 2 curing of recycled aggregates.","PeriodicalId":9857,"journal":{"name":"Ceramics-silikaty","volume":"132 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2023-05-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86348210","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"材料科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The relative ionicity of the Me-O(-P) bond (Me = Zn, Ca, and Cu) was determined using relative polarizability obtained by analyzing the Raman spectra. It was determined that the relative ionicity, i.e. the polarity of the bond, increases from the Cu donor-acceptor bond through the relatively covalently bound Ca to the significantly polar Zn bond. Compared to copper, both zinc and calcium reduce the compactness of the glass structure, of course to a different extent, and thus affect the coefficient of thermal expansion as well as the glass transition temperature. As can be expected, both from the relative ionicity and the effect on the compactness of the structure, the greatly increased solubility of glasses in water when replacing copper with calcium or zinc confirmed the reality of the conclusions about their influence on the properties of glasses. By dissolving glasses in water, the thicknesses of the surface layers were determined, which increases significantly from copper to calcium to zinc. Furthermore, phase segregation in the glass volume was identified.","PeriodicalId":9857,"journal":{"name":"Ceramics-silikaty","volume":"18 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2023-05-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81699215","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"材料科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results show that whether the USL was incorporated or not, the paste keeps its original shear thickening behaviour. However, the yield stress first increased and then decreased with the addition of the USL content. The change in the compressive strength of the UHPC kept close to that of the yield stress. Incorporating 20 % USL, the UHPC reached a maximum compressive strength of 147.8 MPa, which was increased by 12.2 % compared to the reference sample, and its porosity was 6.72 %, which was decreased by 14% compared to the reference sample. In addition to the formation of more C–S–H gels, the pozzolanic reaction of USL increased the chain length of C-S-H and the binding energy of Ca2p, Si2p, O1s, and Al2p. Furthermore, it reduced the Al/Si ratio and Ca2P-Si2P value, making the paste microstructure more compact.","PeriodicalId":9857,"journal":{"name":"Ceramics-silikaty","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2023-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85526009","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"材料科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

XRD, FTIR, SEM analyses and a ferroelectric tester were used to analyse the crystal structure, phase composition, microstructure and ferroelectric properties of the prepared ceramics. The results revealed that substitution of Ca 2+ by Sr 2+ in the HA lattice would lead to an increase in its lattice parameters and a decrease in crystallinity. Moreover, the lattice distortion and the increase in the electric dipole moment caused by the Sr 2+ doping enhanced the ferroelectric properties of the Sr-HA ceramics. Increasing the density of the samples could enhance their ferroelectric properties. The hydration and early mechanical properties of this cement were characterised by isothermal calorimetry, a mechanical test, X-ray diffraction and a thermal analysis. The results showed that the optimal calcination temperature to obtain a satisfactory clinker strength was 1350 ℃ and the corresponding 1, 3 and 7-day strengths were 27.7, 45.8 and 54.3 MPa, respectively. The initial and final setting times of the cements range between 20 and 31 minutes. The cements had the characteristics of rapid hardening and the main hydration products were AFt, AFm and AH 3 . The total hydration heat release of this cement within the first 50 hours was only 158 J · g -1 , which could effectively avoid the generation of internal cracks in the cement and has the potential to be applied to large concrete projects. Furthermore, the MgAl 2 O 4 mineral phase was inert in the belite sulfoaluminate cement and did not participate in the hydration reaction, which eliminates the disadvantage of MgO in the cement systems and potentially increases the use of high magnesium limestone in cement production.","PeriodicalId":9857,"journal":{"name":"Ceramics-silikaty","volume":"100 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.9,"publicationDate":"2023-04-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87877247","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"材料科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
