Experimental studies of the step response curves of an impulse line with a pressure transducer (PT) were carried out with application of a high-frequency analog-to-digital converter of the pressure signal in the PT chamber. Mathematical model of an impulse line with a PT was built. This model provides simulation and investigation of the transient processes with high accuracy. The influence of the impulse line design (length, diameter) on the step response curves and on the frequency response curves as well as on the resonant frequency of the oscillating system (an impulse line with a PT chamber) was studied. The systematic errors of flow rate and volume measurement due to the resonance in the impulse lines which was caused by flow pulsation were simulated and studied for an acting differential pressure natural gas metering system. On the basis of the calculation results it was defined that amplification of the amplitude of the oscillating signal of the differential pressure due to the resonance may lead to a negative systematic error of gas volume measurement. The systematic errors of gas flow rate and volume measurement caused by the flow pulsation can be reduced by choosing the correct design of the impulse lines in order to avoid the resonance.","PeriodicalId":9737,"journal":{"name":"Challenges of Modern Technology","volume":"15 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78427067","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

University campuses have the potential to become an excellent model of architecture and urban planning with ideal symbiosis of learning and working, residence and recreation. Ecology issues must have value of moral imperative and are an expression of social responsibility for politicians, teachers and the media, as opinion-forming centres. By virtue of this mission, universities should therefore be interested in promoting sustainable architecture to minimize adverse effects on the environment and to shape ecological society. But many campuses of polish universities do not develop perfectly. Developed on the city suburbs they do not support the idea of compact city and the process of re-urbanization. Often there is a lack of application of the principles of sustainable development. We see ad hoc method of developing campuses, tendency to suburbanization, waste of space and public funds, too little concern for the environment and not enough renewable energy. Institution of higher education must develop in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. This is the direction specified, as a priority, in the European economy and it’s profitablity to private companies. Universities as institutions that use public funds for its functioning and development, are obliged to the rational management, with attention to Social Affairs and future generations.","PeriodicalId":9737,"journal":{"name":"Challenges of Modern Technology","volume":"8 1","pages":"29-32"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79655591","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

New devices and methods for both face recognition and facial expression recognition are constantly developed. In order to evaluate these devices and methods, dedicated datasets are recorded. Acquisition of a database for facial analysis is not an easy task and requires taking into account multiple issues. Based on our experience with recording databases for facial expression recognition, we provide guidelines regarding the acquisition process. Multiple aspects of such process are discussed in this work, namely selection of sensors and data streams, design and structure of the database, technical aspects, acquisition conditions and design of the user interface. Recommendations how to address these aspects are provided and justified. An acquisition software, designed according to these guidelines, is also discussed. The software was used for recording an extended version of our previous facial expression recognition database and proved to both ensure correct data and be convenient for the recorded subjects.","PeriodicalId":9737,"journal":{"name":"Challenges of Modern Technology","volume":"74 1","pages":"3-7"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79999525","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
