Gowardhan, P. Bagade","doi":"10.4103/jopcs.jopcs_27_22","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.4103/jopcs.jopcs_27_22","url":null,"abstract":"Background: Primarily collegiate promotions, placement retention, professional progress, and career mobility of any medical fraternity are determined by the growth in their research productivity. Universities and medical institutes also recruit and promote those academicians who have voluminous resume with ample number of publications. However, the mandatory criteria for article publication and the frequent changes made in them, challenge the medical professionals and create a sense of anxiety and insecurity in them about their future prospects. This study aims at screening these medical academicians, for generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) in response to the recent change in \"Minimum Teachers Eligibility Qualifications in Medical Institutions Regulations\" as per the National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines 2022. Materials and Methods: It was a cross-sectional pilot study conducted in two medical institutes including 76 medical teachers due for their promotions. Knowledge and anxiety towards the recent change in \"Minimum Teachers Eligibility Qualifications in Medical Institutions Regulations\" as per the NMC guidelines 2022 was assessed by the GAD-7 scoring system with help of a questionnaire. The medical professionals were grouped into minimal, mild, moderate, and severe anxiety depending on their GAD-7 score. Results: Hundred percent of medical teachers were aware of the recent changes in the promotion criteria laid down by the NMC in February 2022. 31.57% and 34.78% of medical professionals were found to have mild and moderate anxiety respectively about the promotion criteria. Although less, but 15% of them were screened to be severely anxious about the same matter. Conclusion: All the study participants were updated about the recent changes in the promotion criteria put forward by NMC in February 2022 but this revision has created a sense of apprehension and uncertainty among the medical professionals regarding their due promotions.","PeriodicalId":93784,"journal":{"name":"Journal of primary care specialties : official publication of the Institute of Family Medicine and Primary Care","volume":"9 1","pages":"17 - 23"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74634236","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Objectives: To estimate the proportion and associated risk factors of depression among infertile women of reproductive age group. Methodology: A cross sectional study was conducted in the tertiary care level of Obstetrics & Gynecology Clinics in the Agartala city. BDI scale was used for assessing the depression level among infertile women. Result: The proportion of depression was 54%. One percent severe depression and 5% moderate depression. There was significant association of depression with age group, educational status, and number of family member, duration of marriage, caste and with religion of the infertile women. Conclusion: The proportion of the depression morbidity was high among infertile women. The proportion of depression should not be underestimated in the women suffering from infertility. Apart from searching for the obstetrical causes of infertility; psychological morbidity should also be considered as a serious concern affecting these women.","PeriodicalId":93784,"journal":{"name":"Journal of primary care specialties : official publication of the Institute of Family Medicine and Primary Care","volume":"129 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135263512","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the results of controlled trials were mixed. To reach factual conclusions, we conducted systematic study and meta-analysis. Materials and Methods: An exhaustive literature search on COVID-19 and AYUSH was conducted using electroinic databases such as PubMed/Medline, CAM-QUEST, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials since inception to February 2022. Pooled estimates of the parameters were assessed in terms of standard mean difference (SMD) and relative risk (rr) using RevMan software. Risk of bias (RoB) in individual studies and across studies was assessed through Cochrane tool of bias and Grades of Recommendation, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation approach, respectively. Results: A total of 13 studies out of 650 articles were considered for the meta-analysis. Combined therapy showed greater effect to recovery rate and period (RR = 0.24, 95% confidence interval [CI] [0.11–0.55] P = 0.0007) (mean differences [MD] = −2.29, 95% CI − 4.62–0.04, P = 0.05), respectively. Cycle threshold value of reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (MD = −2.16, 95% CI − 2.90– −1.43, P < 0.00001), interleukin (IL)-6 (MD = −0.31, 95% CI − 0.57 –−0.05, P = 0.02), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (MD = −3.38, 95% CI − 4.25 – −2.51, P < 0.00001), lactate dehydrogenase (MD = −1.97, 95% CI − 2.57 to − 1.38, P < 0.00001). In homeopathy preventive trial, lesser number of occurrences of events were found (odds ratio = 0.12, 95% CI 0.03–0.47, P = 0.002). RoB was unclear. Conclusion: COVID-19 may benefit from AYUSH interventions as an adjunct. High-quality randomized controlled trials are required to evaluate and validate this.","PeriodicalId":93784,"journal":{"name":"Journal of primary care specialties : official publication of the Institute of Family Medicine and Primary Care","volume":"9 1","pages":"49 - 62"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90214822","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
