Sailors are exceptional in their profession, having to spend a large part of their lives at sea. The main objectives of the study were to prepare IEC package on prevention of occupational health hazards, to evaluate the effectiveness of IEC package on knowledge regarding occupational health hazards among sailors, and to findout association between the knowledge scores of sailors regarding occupational health hazards and its management with selected demographic variables.Methods:A quantitative (experimental) research approach was used with Solomon group four designs in the present study. The study was conducted at Anglo Eastern Maritime Training Centre, New Delhi, on 60 sailors. The tool developed and utilized for the data collection were structured knowledge questionnaire to assess the knowledge regarding occupational hazards and their prevention among sailors before and after administration of the IEC package. Findings: The mean post knowledge scores were found to be higher than the mean pretest knowledge scores after administering IEC package. IEC package was found effective at 0.05 level of significance by using paired t test which showed increase in the knowledge to prevent occupational health hazards. Religion and work experience were found to be significantly related to knowledge regarding occupational health hazards and its management.","PeriodicalId":93582,"journal":{"name":"Journal of medical & clinical nursing","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44070677","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As no curative therapies exist to date, early detection of peripheral neuropathy (PN) affords patients the best chance to reverse it through education, intensive lifestyle modifications, and multidisciplinary management. Concerning diabetic PN, obstacles to effective screening include low clinical priority, failure to screen patients during prediabetes, confusion regarding methods and goals of testing, and possibly inexperience with thermal testing. Providers and advanced practice nurses are well-positioned to advocate for and implement early PN detection programs, screen for complications including sleep and mood disorders, promote multidisciplinary management, identify strategies to reduce pain and other PN symptoms, and counsel patients regarding many aspects of safety and self-care for improved quality of life. This manuscript provides a brief overview of PN with an emphasis on diabetic PN, a discussion of the aforementioned obstacles to effective screening, and a summary of recommendations to improve PN identification in clinical practice.","PeriodicalId":93582,"journal":{"name":"Journal of medical & clinical nursing","volume":"3 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46162882","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are many types of hemodynamic monitoring. When choosing the monitoring type, factors include accuracy, invasiveness, the desired hemodynamic variables, and potential complications. For example, the Pulmonary Artery Catheter is invasive and can be associated with catheter-related complications. Still, the values it provides have been validated and may be more useful when treating patients with heart problems. New minimally invasive and noninvasive hemodynamic monitoring systems, such as the Flo Trac and the ClearSight, deliver functional hemodynamic values that can be used to evaluate the real-time response to fluid administration. Minimally invasive and noninvasive devices’ ease of use, availability, and relative lack of patient complications make them appealing. However, they may lack accuracy in some situations.","PeriodicalId":93582,"journal":{"name":"Journal of medical & clinical nursing","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48342980","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) is currently the gold standard. However, ABI is time consuming and requires some expertise to perform which is a limiting factor for global screening. The measurement of the Systolic Rise Time (SRT) of the pulse wave of the lower limb may provide an easier alternative to detect PAOD. In a retrospective pilot study, we analyzed the possibility of detecting PAOD using the SRT of the toe waveform using the Photo-PlethysmoGraphic signal (PPG).","PeriodicalId":93582,"journal":{"name":"Journal of medical & clinical nursing","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45026606","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition to the concept of TEA, a special law composed of a total of 8 (eight) articles establishes the inherent rights of these people, and in its 2nd article, establishes guidelines for national policies, including the intersectoriality of service actions of development; community participation; comprehensive attention to the needs of autistic patients, etc. The type of study is a systematic review, research of this type has the primary objective of exposing the attributes of a given phenomenon or statement among its variables. Thus, it is recommended that it presents characteristics such as: analyzing the atmosphere as a direct source of data and the researcher as a switch instrument; not to broker the use of statistical artifices and methods, having as a greater apprehension the interpretation of phenomena and the imputation of results, the method should be the main focus for the approach and not the result or the fruit, the appreciation of the data should be achieved from intuitively and inductively through the researcher","PeriodicalId":93582,"journal":{"name":"Journal of medical & clinical nursing","volume":"115 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41283732","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
