Method: I t was a descriptive cross-sectional study conducted in the Obstetrics and Gynecology University Clinic (CUGO) of CNHU-HKM from April 3, 2017 to August 3, 2017. Patients included in this study wereexpectant motherswho reported to the hospital for either antenatal or emergency consultation in CUGO, with high of blood pressure ≥ 140/90 mmHg. They all gave their informed consent to take part in this clinical research.Non-probabilistic sampling was conducted, and expectant mothers meeting our inclusion criteria were included in the study. Data were collected on paper using the questionnaire, and then entered into Epi-Data version 3.1. Then, Epi-Data 2.2.2.182 and OpenEpi 3.01 were used for data analysis. Outcomes: Among the 105 expectant mothers selected, 69 met our inclusion criteria.Theexpectant mothers aged ranged from 14 to 42 years, with mean age estimated at 28 ± 6.5 years. Globally, 7.41% of the expectant mothers had hypertension. Referral was the leading mode of admission to hospital. Headache was reported as themost frequent reason for consultation by 40.6% of patients. Hypertension occurred predominantly after 20 weeks gestation with approximately 71% of patients. Preeclampsia was the major diagnosis (approximately 68% of cases). Dipstick proteinuriawas significant for 46 expectant mothers,i.e. 66.6% of cases. For all cases, renal impairment was confirmed by using protein/creatinine ratio. Conclusion: Protein/creatinine ratio helps to diagnose renal impairmentearly enoughin case of renal vascular disease.","PeriodicalId":93415,"journal":{"name":"Archives of nephrology & urology studies","volume":"5 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79988362","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

AF is usually associated with an underlying cardiac disease, but transient AF has also been reported from mechanical stretch and compression. However, to our knowledge, there are no reports of vascular stent migration to intra-cardiac cavity causing AF. We present a case of endovascular stent migration into the cardiac cavities which could have triggered the AF in presence of other risk factors.","PeriodicalId":93415,"journal":{"name":"Archives of nephrology & urology studies","volume":"135 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89750934","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Following vasectomy reversal there have been a lot of advances in the field to improve the patency and pregnancy rates, although in the modern era of assisted reproductive technology they are usually not counseled with the ease of sperm retrieval and IVF/ICSI. Here we carried out a systematic analysis using the MeSH terms on the search engine Pubmed, like ‘’vasectomy reversal’’, ’’vasovasostomy’(VV)’, ’’vasoepididymostomy’’(VE), ’’optimizing success’’, ’’different sutures’’ to be used, ’’most modern techniques’’ like robotic assisted VV or VE, Video microscopy, analysis of vasal fluid‘’. We found a total of 1200 articles, out of which we selected 75 articles for this review. No meta-analysis was carried out. Further emphasis has been laid on the training of new urologists to learn this complicated technique so that natural conception can be sought for. Further techniques of some complicated cases are described.","PeriodicalId":93415,"journal":{"name":"Archives of nephrology & urology studies","volume":"70 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86117311","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They cause an impairment in the quality of life and increase in cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. We are introducing the case of a 54-year-old woman, who was chronically on hemodialysis for 6 years, with a radial arteriovenous fistula as vascular access. Initially, the patient was reported having chronic tubulointerstitial nephritis. She was on hemodialysis three times a week. She developed secondary hyperparathyroidism. Clinically, she had diffuse arthralgias, bone pain mainly in the pelvis impeding walk; all this in a context of relative functional limitation of the lower limbs. As a result of paraclinical examination, serum calcium was 72 mg/l, phosphatemia was 42 mg/l. PTH returned to 2358 μg/ml and vitamin D tested using 25-OH-D was 20 mg/ml. Standard radiographs showed multiple geodes at the shoulder, lower extremity of the radius, trapezius, scaphoid, proximal phalanx head, spine and bilateral fracture lines of the femoral neck. Our patient was treated with calcium carbonate (e.g. Calcidia, in sachet), calcium-free phosphate binders (e.g. Renagel) and calcimimetics (e.g. Mimpara). Under medical treatment, there was a normalization of PTH and a decrease or even disappearance of the symptoms. This case shows that medical treatment for secondary hyperparathyroidism on hemodialysis patients, especially with calcimimetics, the use of which in our context is limited due to lack of availability.","PeriodicalId":93415,"journal":{"name":"Archives of nephrology & urology studies","volume":"25 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87426108","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, this treatment is not fully effective in some patients. Methods: A prospective observational study was conducted at SRN Hospital Allahabad on 600 diabetic kidney disease patients during July 2015 to August 2017 to compare the efficacy of triple blockade, double blockade and single blockade of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system. Results: At the end of the study, 24 hours urinary protein excretion rate was statistically compared between group I & group III and between group II & group III. The rate was found significant with p value (<0.0001) and (0.0003) respectively. Conclusion: Triple blockade of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system was effective for the treatment of proteinuria in patients with diabetic kidney disease whose increased urinary protein had not responded sufficiently to a dual blockade.","PeriodicalId":93415,"journal":{"name":"Archives of nephrology & urology studies","volume":"21 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82399968","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
