Observations: We report the cases of two (2) patients dialysed for chronic kidney disease (CKD) whose initial nephropathy is a hypertensive nephropathy. They posed the problem of CKD-mineral bone disorder (CKD-MBD) fibrous osteitis type with intact parathyroid hormone (PTH) up to 40N for which a subtotal parathyroidectomy (PTX) was performed with postoperative biological anomalies in favour of the diagnosis of hungry bone syndrome. Conclusion: HBS still intervenes on osteopathies of intense turnover. Its treatment is difficult, based on prolonged calcium and vitamin D supplementation. However, perioperative therapeutic protocols settlement seems essential in order to minimize the risks of its occurrence.","PeriodicalId":93415,"journal":{"name":"Archives of nephrology & urology studies","volume":"25 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90602250","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Fasting venous blood was collected for the determination of adhesion molecules such as serum P and E selectins, glycated haemogloblin and total white blood cells. The serum selectins were estimated using enzyme linked immunoabsorbent assay (ELIZA). While glycated haemogloblin and total white blood cells were estimated using standard methods. The Independent Student t test was used for statistical analysis. Results: The levels of P-Selectin(19.15±2.84) and E-Selectin (37.19±1.29) were significantly increased in hypertensives not on drugs (p<0.05),when compared with the control (7.09±0.87 and 12.55±2.46 ) respectively. Similarly, the levels of glycated haemogloblin ( 5.15±2.84) and total white blood cell count ( 8.79±0.40) were significantly increased in hypertensives not on drugs (P<0.05)when compared with the control (4.29±0.48 and 4.72±0.62 ) respectively. However, the levels of P and E-Selectins, glycated haemogloblin and Total white blood cell count were significantly decreased among hypertensives on therapy when compared with hypertensives not on therapy (p<0.05), The result suggests, that hypertensives are linked with increased P-Selectin and E-Selectin level which may be useful for predicting the severity of hypertensives","PeriodicalId":93415,"journal":{"name":"Archives of nephrology & urology studies","volume":"19 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90671742","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
