Thus, a psychopedagogical intervention was performed in order to optimize this mechanism. Three pairs of age matched 45, X girls were evaluated at two moments (pre and posttest) for the Bender test (BT) and specific Piaget’s tasks or scales (PS). The experimental intervention through the environmental solicitation process was applied for one year to each pair girl with learning disabilities. Experimental subjects (ES) revealed more ability to planning and organizing their graphic expression in the posttest, as well as presented a decrease in number of brain lesion indicators on their BT performance. ES also showed performance improvement in half of PS (e.g. conservation and measurement of volumes task). Data suggest that the present intervention instruments may have contributed to the performance increment of the experimental TS girls.","PeriodicalId":93266,"journal":{"name":"Archives of women health and care","volume":"26 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77200320","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cutler. His defense of the study was (roughly) because the benefits to society in general, and the black community in particular, far outweighed any corresponding risks or harms. His moral judgment controverted the large number of thoughtful essayists decrying the Study as a straightforwardly and racist dehumanizing of men, women, and families. In this essay, I seek to show two things. First, I seek to show how an action or event done at a particular time may lack the objectivity that comes with distanciation, thus a (malicious) systemic distortion may be ambiguously reducible to a historical error, especially if there is no critical theory borne from critical reflection to hold the action or event morally accountable. Second, I show how two things should be apparent with disambiguation of the historical narrative and with critical reflection: 1) an ethic of ambiguity (and the integrity thereof) should demand that moral propositions be critically assessed at the time of an action or event from more than one angle to ensure the protection of all humans, especially historically marginalized individuals and groups; 2) an ethic of belief, given its Intentionality and intentions, should understand its inherent vulnerabilities and accentuate the import of evidence in moral epistemology. We embed a survey into an experiment, presenting systematically varied vignettes about shopping for beauty products. Different messages are combined in a systematic way, with the respondent required to assign a rating to the entire combination. A deconstruction of the responses to the contribution of elements reveals different points of view held by those who respond. These four segments are Focus on self-confidence; Focus on the product/expert; Focus on the experience; and Focus on nothing specific. These four mind-sets can be identified by a short interaction with the salesperson, or with a computer tablet, smartphone, and appropriate, sales-driving message given to the shopper. Introduction During the past two or three decades a swell of interest in the shopping experienced has swept over the world of consumer package goods. Whereas in the 1960’s to 1980’s it sufficed to know what consumers liked and wanted to hear, and what packages would appeal to them, attention in the late 1980’s and onwards has turned to the experience of shopping. By experience we do not mean just the perception of packages on the shelf, but rather on the experience, such as the interaction of the shopper with the store, and with the people who work there. Our focus here is the experience of the department store, and specifically the make-up counter found in high end department stores where specialists, individuals paid by the cosmetics manufacturers, sell their expensive make-up products to women shoppers. One need simply visit any high-end department store around the world to see these make up professionals competing for the shopper’s attention, often gifts, expertise, or just an easy way to purchase. The question motivating this research was quite simple. It was ‘just what does it take to make a shopper interested in purchasing from a specific vendor, with a stand at the store?’ In more concrete terms, what does the shopper want, and what specifically must one say to the shopper to drive purchase at the vendor’s stand. The approach is this study is motivated by the emerging science of Mind Genomics, focusing on the relation between messaging given to consumers/customers, and choice. The objective of Mind Genomics is to uncover the persona of an individual for a given experience, such as shopping for cosmetics. Often the unspoken hope is that somehow by minding terabytes of purchase data, one might figure out exactly what to say to a specific individual about a specific product. The result is an explosion of methods using pattern recognition and artificial but rarely the simple prescription of what exactly to say to a specific person who presents herself at the cosmetic counter and will only 30 seconds of her time before moving on. By uncovering the mind-set of a shopper at the time of shopping in the store, the salesperson or company representative can us","PeriodicalId":93266,"journal":{"name":"Archives of women health and care","volume":"13 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78814021","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Low breastfeeding initiation and duration rates remain of concern internationally including Ireland. One strategy to address these rates is to involve women and their families in designing healthcare services that are more responsive to their needs. Research approaches which emphasise consumer participation are therefore needed. We discuss combining two participatory approaches; World Cafés and Experience-Based-Co-Design. These approaches facilitate consumer and healthcare provider participation in designing and researching healthcare services. We conclude that World Cafés are useful when combined with ExperienceBased-Co-Design to identify the important issues for women, families and healthcare providers to design responsive services to support women to breastfeed.","PeriodicalId":93266,"journal":{"name":"Archives of women health and care","volume":"66 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-02-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73758506","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods: All women answered a questionnaire on their medical history, exercise regime, sexual functions, sleep hygiene, general well-being and menopausal and HRT status. Serum biochemical and hormones, blood pressures, handgrip strength and forced expiratory capacity were measured. Cognitive functions were monitored, and bone and body composition were evaluated using the dual energy absorptiometry (DXA). Results: The results showed that aging affected many health compartments starting mainly in the 6 th decade. Aging affects the cognitive functions, body form, physical and general well-being, metabolic and cardiovascular risk, bone health and the incidence of both general and abdominal obesity. The onset of menopause further aggravated the poor bone health, strength and higher body fat due to age alone. These ill effects in postmenopausal women not having HRT were negated by either estrogen alone or estrogen/progestin HRT. However, estrogen alone HRT was associated with significantly lower IGF1 and BP3 and higher incidence of abdominal obesity than by age alone. The combined estrogen/progestin HRT, on the other hand was associated with lower levels of HDL. Conclusion: Aging affects most health compartments by the 5 th and 6 th decades. The onset of menopause further aggravated the ill effects of aging on bone health. While HRT could negate the ill effects of menopause, HRT may have other adverse effects on","PeriodicalId":93266,"journal":{"name":"Archives of women health and care","volume":"329 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76564473","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

High levels of stress, regardless of duration or frequency, can affect learning, performance, and retention in nursing programs. Repetitive high-stake stressors encountered by nursing students increase risks for deleterious health outcomes.
