Utilizing a single site for access, LESS attempts to minimize the number of scars produced. This may result in improvements in pain, convalescence, and cosmesis. Outcomes, however, must not be compromised using this approach. At our institution, we have performed LESS donor nephrectomy (LESS-DN) and have compared it to conventional laparoscopic donor nephrectomy (LDN) in a prospective, randomized fashion to assure that LESS-DN outcomes are not inferior to LDN. The technique and the outcomes of our trial are outlined in the video. Methods: LESS-DN access is obtained through the extraction pfannenstiel incision. Three ports are placed within this incision and donor nephrectomy is performed with the aid of the EndoEye articulating scope. The colon is reflected after incising the white line of Toldt, and the ureter is identified. Dissection toward the hilum is performed and the renal ...","PeriodicalId":92923,"journal":{"name":"Journal of endourology. The current options for managing the failed pyeloplasty are endopyelotomy or redo pyeloplasty, which can be an open, laparoscopic or robot-assisted approach.2 The ureterocalicostomy is considered to salvage the kidney when there are no other options. The redo pyeloplasty is equally difficult with both the open and laparoscopic approach. We present a video demonstration of laparoscopic redo pyeloplasty. The port positions are depicted in the illustration. After achieving the pneumoperitoneum, the colon was reflected along the line of toldt. The affected renal unit and dilated renal pelvis were exposed after incising Gerota's fascia. Meanwhile, laparoscopic nephrectomy is now offered for selected patients with large tumors up to stage T3 and for cytoreductive nephrectomies. Objectives: We present an educative video that shows the performance of a conventional right laparoscopic radical nephrectomy since its surgical planning, usual and crucial step considerations, warnings, possible complications, and their managements. With the big experience of the authors in this topic, we share tips and tricks about this usual procedure. Methods: We collected multiple videos from the author's personal video collections all around the world that exemplified each right laparoscopic radical nephrectomy step and its possible complication with the respective management and prevention. We summarized all the videos and designed special step illustrations and made a unique one for an academic v...","PeriodicalId":92923,"journal":{"name":"Journal of endourology. Retroperitoneoscopy can be performed with the patient in lateral or prone position.2,3 Standard three trocars are being used, but single-access retroperitoneal adrenalectomy is a new technique of which, few reports exist.4 The use of straight instruments for this procedure was reported only once.5 In our center, single-port adrenalectomy retroperitoneoscopically (SPAR) was started in 2011. Based on the literature, this retroperitoneoscopic technique was performed only in patients with small benign tumors (≤6 cm) and low body mass index (BMI) (<30).6 To our knowledge, this is the first video in urological literature showing this technique (duration 8.49 minutes). The results after seven procedures were evaluated.
