However, streptococcal pharyngitis and its resulting complications are not uncommon in this age group and can have serious consequences. We report a case of Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal infections in a 2-year-old with streptococcal pharyngitis. Testing and treatment for streptococcal pharyngitis should be strongly considered when there is evidence of infection and/or an immune-mediated streptococcal complication to prevent and/or decrease the severity of short- and long-term complications.</p>","PeriodicalId":90942,"journal":{"name":"Open journal of clinical & medical case reports","volume":"10 14","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC11238569/pdf/","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141592383","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
