According to survey it is believed thirty three percentages of people suffer from sleep which indirectly effect mental health and well-being and Psychiatric conditions like depression, anxiety, type2 diabetes and depression. Poor sleep makes it more difficult for coping up to minor stress and daily hassles can turn in to major form of frustration. Sleep has an important restorative function in ‘recharging’ the brain at the end of each day, just like we need to charge a mobile phone battery after prolonged use. Maintaining a regular sleep-wake cycle allows the natural rhythm of the body to be reset every day and therefore optimizes brain functioning. Sleep is as important to our health as eating, drinking and breathing. It allows our bodies to repair themselves and our brains to group together our memories and process information","PeriodicalId":90238,"journal":{"name":"Journal of sleep disorders-- treatment & care","volume":" ","pages":"1-1"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46528674","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

RLS is also known as Willis Ekbom disease. RLS causes painful sensations in the legs, along with a powerful urge to move them. For most people, that urge is more intense when you’r e relaxed or trying to sleep. The most serious concern for people with RLS is that it interferes with sleep, causing daytime sleepiness and fatigue. RLS and sleep deprivation can put you at risk for other health problems, including depression if not treate d. It can occur at any age, though it’s usually more severe in middle age or later. Women are twice as likely as men to have RLS. At least 80 percent of people with RLS have a related condition called periodic limb movement of sleep (PLMS). PLMS causes the legs to twitch or jerk during sleep. It can happen as often as every 15 to 40 seconds and can continue all night long. PLMS can also lead to sleep deprivation.","PeriodicalId":90238,"journal":{"name":"Journal of sleep disorders-- treatment & care","volume":"2020 1","pages":"1-1"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41647732","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nasal CPAP is a common treatment for those with, a sleep disorder that disrupts normal breathing and interrupts deep sleep. It may also help infants with underdeveloped lungs breathe more easily. Individuals of all ages who have obstructive sleep apnea often make good candidates for nasal CPAP therapy. Some obstruction in the airway typically creates these pauses in breath. Throat muscles that relax too much to allow normal breathing can block the flow of air. A large tongue or tonsils may also create an obstruction. A blocked ai rway can cause the individual to snort, choke, or gasp. Sleep affects how well you feel when you are awake. Both the time and quality of your sleep are important. Most people spend only a third of their lives sleeping, which is necessary for the good productivity and health. Too little or too much sleep can cause health problems and lower your quality of life. Furthermore, some chronic diseases that cause the sleep patterns may get worse from lack of sleep and result in a shor tened life. Sleep is important. When you are asleep, your body replenishes and repairs itself. It needs this time to repair muscles, consolidate memories, and release hormones that maintain growth and digestion. Good quality of sleep helps control your app etite, support your immune system, and promote good overall health. Many adults are chronically sleep deprived from going to bed too late or waking up too early. Getting little high quality sleep can leave you feeling fatigued, unable to concentrate, and m entally foggy. It can raise your risk of accidental injury and certain health conditions. The time of sleep you need depends on your age. Children and teens mainly need more sleep than adults. For most adults recommends getting seven to eight hours of slee p per night. Getting too little or too more like more than 10 hours per night on most nights can be problematic.","PeriodicalId":90238,"journal":{"name":"Journal of sleep disorders-- treatment & care","volume":"2020 1","pages":"1-2"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41476486","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The condition stems from changes in your brain that affect your sleep wake cycles. The actual number of people who it affects may be higher. This is because the symptoms can be like other sleep disorders, such as obstructive sleep apnea. At first, narcolepsy often causes issues with sleeping at night, along with problems staying awake during the day. You may also d evelop other symptoms, such as sudden muscle paralysis. Symptoms like this can make it difficult to accomplish daily tasks. Like other neurological conditions, the brain’s role in narcolepsy is complex. Researchers are still learning more about it. It causes breathing to stop and start repeatedly while you sleep.With sleep apnea, the muscles in your upper airway relax while you’re sleeping. Short bursts of intense electrical energy in the brain cause seizures. When these bursts occur in the brain, it is known as a partial seizure. When they occur throughout the brain, it is known as a generalized seizure. These seizures cause symptoms in the entire body. This type of epilepsy was generally known as generalized convulsive epilepsy. Generalized seizures follow a basic pattern. First, your muscles stiffen and become rigid. Then, you experience violent muscle contractions in which the muscles move in quick, random spasms.
