The crossbite must be corrected without occlusal interference during alignment. Occlusal interference associated with such extrusion can prevent proper tooth positioning, and therefore, the temporary use of a bite plate may be necessary' However, unnecessary bite raising may occur when a bite plate is used in adults, and the patient's discomfort due to such an appliance cannot be ignored. Most of the time, conventional ligation fails and also ends with debonding of the bracket. Temporal mandibular joint disorders (TMD) can be improved or corrected in conjunction with orthodontics. A narrow airway is an early sign to developing obstructive sleep apnea and can be remedied if diagnosed early prior to the start of treatment. These case reports describe patients with a history of upper bicuspid extractions that have TMD and a constricted airway. Tongue size and posture can cause open bite; thus, glossectomy is one of the treatment choices in severe cases. A 19 year old girl with a chief complaint of extra-large tongue and anterior open bite due to hemangioma was referred to us. Hemangioma removal and partial glossectomy were performed. With no other intervention, the anterior open bite decreased 10 millimeters within 3 years.
