The programme, under the framework of CCT programmes, had two objectives with differing time horizons, short term alleviation of income poverty and a longer-term objective of breaking intergenerational poverty. The aim of this paper is to explore the recipients’ perspectives in relation to the CCT programme in Mexico and whether they perceived it achieved its long-term objectives. A qualitative method was adopted with 47 interviews conducted with recipients with over 15 years enrolment in the programme. Analysis results suggested that the recipients were aware of the long-term objectives of the programme, understanding education being key to breaking intergenerational poverty, and that they felt the programme had enabled children of recipients to break from cycles of poverty. The paper sought to highlight the value of qualitative evaluations to form part of future evaluations in measuring the long-term success of CCT programmes.","PeriodicalId":82642,"journal":{"name":"Sapienza","volume":"37 6","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136105081","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

METHODS: A cross-sectional analytical study was conducted, involving 47 patients with Weber type B ankle fractures between January 2022 and January 2023 at San Francisco General Hospital in Quito. Patients with multi-fragment fractures were excluded. and two groups were established: patients with interfragmentary screws and those without. Variables such as surgical time, bleeding, complications, and consolidation time were assessed using JASP 0.16.0.0 software and statistical tests. RESULTS: Out of all patients, 53.19% were treated with interfragmentary screws, while 46.80% were not. No statistically significant differences were observed between the two groups. Complications occurred in 7 out of 25 patients with interfragmentary screws and in 4 out of 22 patients without them, with average follow-up periods of 82.81 and 76.8 days, respectively. Consolidation time was similar in both groups, with no statistical differences. CONCLUSION: Although interfragmentary screws are beneficial for achieving primary consolidation, this study suggests that they may not be universally necessary, especially when precise anatomical reduction is accomplished. Anatomical reduction remains pivotal in fracture management. While interfragmentary screws can provide compression, their use may increase costs, recovery time, and complications.","PeriodicalId":82642,"journal":{"name":"Sapienza","volume":"2014 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135084940","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this purpose, research with a qualitative-quantitative approach was used; the design was non-experimental field research; the type of research was descriptive. The population consisted of 01 official of the planning and strategic management department of the Internal Revenue Service of Portoviejo; as well as 138 workers of the IRS, the method of analysis was content analysis. The technique used was the structured interview and the questionnaire survey directed to 138 workers. As a result, it was found that having years of service in the institution favors the knowledge of tax exemptions; among the payments made by the elderly is the payment or declaration of value added tax; The fact that 80% of the elderly have received partial exemptions from paying taxes may be due to the fact that 70% consider that they do not register with the IRS to receive tax benefits, ignorance (90%) is the cause of this reality, which affects the demand for the benefits provided for in the Constitution, as well as in the different national regulations inherent to tax matters. It is concluded that there is a binding regulation in favor of tax exemptions for the elderly that could reduce the burden either in total, partial or special form and is applied in the payment of municipal and fiscal taxes; however, there is a lack of knowledge on the part of the beneficiaries.","PeriodicalId":82642,"journal":{"name":"Sapienza","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135084957","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this purpose, the present study aimed to carry out a documentary analysis of the sizing strategies of smart microgrids for rural users. The research was carried out from the approach of a documentary-bibliographic research. In this framework, the search was carried out in the Internet database of sites specialized in academic information and reliable sources using the descriptors: electric microgrids, strategies, sizing. For the selection of the material under analysis, the following criteria were taken into consideration: pertinence, relevance, language, place of origin, published in indexed journals during the years 2017 to 2021. Based on this, the content analysis of the information found in the literary sources collected was performed. Of the total number of documents used, seven (07) of them were considered for the analysis as they were considered to be the ones that most accurately matched the interests of this study. The results found show that: The integration of distributed energy resources (distributed generation and energy storage), are resulting in a great revolution in generation, transmission, distribution, operation and energy consumption, among others. It is concluded that microgrids become one of the support strategies for the conventional electrical grid that can help in the purpose of undertaking actions for the development of projects aimed at generating a process of allocation or improvement in the supply of electricity in rural localities.","PeriodicalId":82642,"journal":{"name":"Sapienza","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135084945","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, as it is used, the equipment is exposed to different environmental conditions such as level of contamination, salinity. , height, humidity, among others, as well as energy demand and quality, causing different types of electrical and thermal stress inside. That is why the objective of this study is to implement a programming code using the Duval method for the diagnosis of power transformers. For this, programming based on the supervised learning algorithm is used as a methodology to process the gas concentration levels contained in the dielectric oil obtained from the analysis of dissolved gases and for its interpretation the Duval method is used, which is presented in IEEE C57.104™-2019 standard. The designed code individually processes the dissolved gas analysis reports as well as large quantities of reports from the same transformer or from different ones, allowing the comparison of historical data of the equipment or equipment and the evaluation of its status according to the electrical stress to which it is subjected.","PeriodicalId":82642,"journal":{"name":"Sapienza","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135585935","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its aim is to assess whether nationalism plays a relevant role in shaping people´s views on the EU. For doing so, different proxies of patriotism, nationalism and chauvinism are explored, and French perception of the EU is scrutinized through four dimensions measuring the respondents´ assessment of their EU knowledge, their country´s benefits from EU membership, national sovereignty and support for continuing French EU membership. The data source comes from the survey carried out in 2013 by the International Social Survey Program (ISSP) in which the sample size, in the case of France, is more than 2,000 people. Findings indicate that nationalism and chauvinism correlate negatively with attitudes towards the EU. The contribution to the literature is twofold. Firstly, it is shown that there is a strong negative correlation between chauvinism and the willingness of remaining as a Member State of the EU. Secondly, this research revealed that an improvement in the communication channels between the EU´s institutions and the citizenship could be crucial to counterbalance this effect.","PeriodicalId":82642,"journal":{"name":"Sapienza","volume":"106 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136377441","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Money Cycle Index takes into account how well a country's economic structure is set up and what kind of financial model it needs to respond to the monetary crisis. Costa Rica's index of the cycle of money calculations is compared to the average global index of the cycle of money. This indicates that Costa Rica is in line with the global average, thus being a good economy, which could be at risk of falling into recession.
