{"title":"[An anticipatory and prospective scheme for the treatment of the asthmatic patient].","authors":"F Vázquez Nava, C Govea Gómez, F J Beltrán Guzmán, I A Torres Ferman","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><p>Asthma is a chronic disease, that require familiar education and advisement in order to get control. The records of 71 asthmatics children were studied, the ages ranged from 6 months to 16 years, both sexes were included. All of them came up to the allergologic outpatient section at IMSS regional hospital located in Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas. All cases reviewed in 1992. Males were predominant, mainly affecting school age, symptoms appeared in 56.6% before two years of age and 21.6% had less than one year of evolution, in 54.9% have received specialist medical treatment, only 18.3% know elementary information about the disease. SLE-CNS dysfunction is broadly divided into neurologic and psychiatric clinical categories. The distinct clinical entities within these broad categories are fully described. {"title":"[Effect of occupational lead exposure on immunoglobulin concentration and cellular immune function in man].","authors":"A Castillo Méndez, T Rodríguez Díaz, A León Lobeck, A J Gravalosa Cruz","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><p>The evaluation of immunological conditions of 14 workers occupationally exposed to lead and the comparison of these results with those of a non-exposed control group with similar age and sex were the aims of this study. It was determined the mean values of lead in blood. In exposed workers it was 46.9 micrograms/dl while in the control group it was 10.9 micrograms/dl. Levels of immunoglobulin decreasing while increasing lead concentration in blood were found in those exposed. {"title":"[In vitro transfer of immunity against PPD with dialyzable extract of leukocytes from human colostrum].","authors":"S Martínez-Cairo Cueto, C Alasio-Chávez, J R Dávila Velázquez","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><p>The aim of this study is to demonstrate the transference of PPD hypersensibility in an in vitro model, with dialysable colostral leukocyte extract (DCLE) of PPD+ and PPD-mothers, through measurements of leukocyte migration inhibition factor activity (LIF) from blood obtained of the umbilical cord of newborns from PPD+ mothers. The results show that DCLE PPD+ incubated with leukocytes of newborns from PPD- mothers had inhibition of leukocyte migration compared with migration of leukocytes incubated with DCLE PPD-.
