{"title":"[New cavity designs].","authors":"V Vrbic","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><p>Introduction of new dental materials and new technics cause the changes in cavity preparation and cavity designs especially after introduction of composite resins as a filling material. The majority of changes concern extension for prevention and cavity retention. Occlusal restoration using fissure sealant instead of extension for prevention is discussed as well as a conservative occlusal preparation with no extension for prevention. The clinical testing was carried out in thirty maxillofacial patients undergoing surgery. A description of anaesthetic procedures is given. During this work special concern was paid to changes of arterial blood pressure and pulse rate under influence of isoflurane action, as well as to the recovery from it. A dependent decrease of arterial blood pressure has been observed. The pulse rate remained stable. During recovery from anaesthesia only a few adverse effects were registered. {"title":"[Carcinoma adenoids cysticum--dispensary case].","authors":"T Camplin","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><p>In the article the dispensary case of carcinoma adenoids cysticum, highly rare disease of the mandibula is discussed. Clinical and an X-ray examinations revealed many similarities of this disease with cystic radicularis. The correct diagnosis could not be set until histopathological findings of the tissue taken at marsupialization were known. 69 years old female patient was further radically treated in the clinical hospital, where the removed mandibula was replaced by the reconstruction plate. In the literature this disease is presented merely as a metastasis. Basic principles of design consider: an examination of the partially edentolous mouth, surveying of abutment teeth and analysing of forces, which act on the denture during its function. In the literature above all chewing (positive) forces and their leverage action upon partial denture are described. The main principle is that strait saddles are designed as tooth-born, however in curved saddles tooth and mucosa-born dentures are preferred. The article describes so called \"altered cast\" clinical and laboratory procedure which prevents rocking of the denture around the fulcrum line in patients with resilient alveolar ridge mucosa. {"title":"[Changes of heart rate and arterial blood pressure during the surgery of cheilognathopalatoschisis with the local usage of adrenalin].","authors":"M Cokić,&nbsp;M Pecan,&nbsp;V Barovic","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><p>The authors describe cardiovascular changes and needs for blood transfusion in 70 babies and children who received adrenalin into hard palate (A = 40) POR-8 and (B = 30) adrenalin and were operated due to cheilognathopalatoschisis. The effectiveness between POR-8 and adrenalin are compared and the advantages of adrenalin are described. The infiltration of adrenalin in dosage from 5-10 micrograms/kg increases arterial blood pressure for 30% and puls for 10%. 20% of operated children who have got POR-8 2.5 IU received blood transfusion as well.
