The increased costs for health care and complexities of access to this care are emphasized. Restoring the lost bone is crucial for the rehabilitation of the patient's functioning, phonetics and aesthetics. Currently the methods available for vertical bone augmentation prior to dental implant placement are rather limited. This paper describes present and future concepts of utilizing mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) as well as endothelial progenitor cells (EPC) for enhancing bone growth in severe atrophic cases. This is a verbal hands-on problem. 2. You will have two minutes to think and four minutes to respond. Questions count against your thinking time. 3. You will receive one point for each common answer. Humorous or creative answers will be worth 3 points. This is a subjective opinion on the part of the judge, and the judges’ decision is final. 4. Each team member will be given 5 tokens representing imaginary money to spend on each response given. You spend one of your tokens before responding by placing the token in the jar located at the center of the table. 5. Once time begins, it will not be stopped. If the judge asks you to repeat your answers, clarify it or give another answer, it counts against your time. Speak loudly and clearly. 6. Your problem is: You are to imagine yourself as the recipient of the “Creative Mind Sweepstakes “and that you have just been awarded $100,000. The only stipulation to this massive cash reward is that you must spend the money creatively on people other then yourself. You must spend a token before responding. Time ends in 4 minutes or when you have used all your tokens. 7. Any unused tokens will be forfeited as time expires. 8. {"title":"Burning mouth syndrome.","authors":"Cibele Nasri-Heir","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><p>According to the International Association for the Study of Pain, burning mouth Syndrome (BMS) is defined as a burning pain in the tongue or other oral mucous membrane in the absence of clinical signs or laboratory findings. The etiology is unknown and presents a challenge for both researchers and clinicians. The management of BMS is still not satisfactory. The prognosis is poor and the burning sensation can last for many years causing a dramatic impact on the patient's quality of life. It is important to distinguish between true BMS and symptomatic burning sensation which occurs when the burning sensation is secondary to a local or systemic pathologic condition. Currently, there are no defined diagnostic criteria for BMS. A diagnosis is usually reached by exclusion of other diseases.
