{"title":"[Caries treatment of milk and permanent teeth with the preparation EKO].","authors":"D Danova","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><p>Sixty one subjects (mainly children and students) with 153 obturations of milk and permanent teeth have been treated. The biological preparation EKO has been used instead of an inlay. The clinical control of the treated teeth has been performed after 3, 6 and 12 months. Positive results have been obtained in 95% of the cases, being a good reason to recommend that method as a method of choice in practice, in planned treatment of children and students in particular.</p>","PeriodicalId":76560,"journal":{"name":"Stomatologiia. {"title":"[Two-stage replantation of molars and premolars in acute and exacerbated chronic periodontitis].","authors":"N Genova","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><p>The author reports about the clinical and X-ray study of 25 patients who were replanted 25 teeth in two stages -- 12 teeth of the upper and 13 of the lower jaw-during acute and exacerbated periodontitis. Lyophilized spongiosis chips were deposited in the alveoli before the replantation of 5 teeth. During the first stage, the extracted tooth is mechanically cleaned, washed with hudrogen peroxide and alcohol and then preserved in a solution of penicillin and physiological salt solution in the refrigerator at a temperature from +2 to +5 degrees C. During the second stage, the tooth is taken from the refrigerator after two to five 24-hours, obturated and replanted. The results allowed the conclusion that the method could be applied only in exceptional cases. The use of lyophilized spongiosis chips in replantation of teeth should be studied thoroughly in the future, presuming that it will contribute to the longer-term survival of replanted tooth.</p>","PeriodicalId":76560,"journal":{"name":"Stomatologiia. {"title":"[Horizontal measurements of buccal vestibules].","authors":"R Ralev","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><p>In order to establish the horizontal measurements of the buccal vestibules- an important index for the aesthetic quality of prostheses, a total of 250 subjects, 119 males and 131 females, were measured. The size of the buccal vestibule is calculated as the half of the difference between the size of a smiling mouth and the width of the visible dentition. It has been established that the mean linear measure of the buccal vestibule is 6.5 mm and varies from 5 and 8.5 mm. Its value is directly proportional to the size of the smile and inversely proportional--to the width of the visible dentition; no discrepanciens have established depending on sex and age of the subject.</p>","PeriodicalId":76560,"journal":{"name":"Stomatologiia. Later, 10 years after the reimplantation apical osteotomy, according to indications, was performed to the same tooth. The X-ray, performed in 1985, shows that resorptive processes around the tooth and root has not advances as yet. It started after the root treatment on the adjecent 46 in 1985. The author thinks that the mass failure of teeth reimplantation (short-term therapeutic effect of 5-6 years and not with all reimplantations) reduces the interest of the researchers in it without any grounds. The case described shows that, very likely, under certain conditions and certain operation technique, unconsciously blended in the case described, very good therapeutic effect could be relied on via the reimplantation. It is presumed that the initiation of resorption has been provoked by the devitalization of an adjacent tooth, possibly due to disturbed trophicity in the region around it. It has been concluded that a great many problems, still unknown, of teeth reimplantation wait their proper solution.</p>","PeriodicalId":76560,"journal":{"name":"Stomatologiia. The methods are as follows: Motor-reflex, described by B. Bojanov, method with swallowing described by A. Hromatka, phonetic method described by N. Popov, and G. Georgiev, reflex method described by the author. The study was performed with 50 subjects with complete and partial teeth extraction. No statistically significant differences were established with the comparison of the four methods.
