After one year we observed using clinical and x-ray methods successful treatment in 93.4% of the teeth. Territorial differences in the caries prevalence have a strong connection to the degree of realisation of preventive measures. {"title":"[Influence factors on progression and result of the treatment of periapical inflammation].","authors":"E Glockmann","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><p>The removal of the root canal infection was rendered more difficult with initially present communication of the root canal with the oral cavity, the involvement of relatively resistant microorganisms (enterococci, candida spec. and others) in the infection, and the extensive destructions of the periodontium. Some reduction of the chance of success could be established in case of extensive lesions of the marginal, lateral and apical periodontium after a control period of three years.
