Twelve cases with long-term followup are reviewed. The importance of early and complete radiological evaluation and the potential for recurrence is emphasized. Since metastases or extralaryngeal extension is rare, conservative surgery, preserving laryngeal function as long as possible, is the treatment of choice. The histological distinction of chondroma versus chondrosarcoma is not essential for the clinical management of these lesions, and we suggest they be designated as cartilaginous tumors of the larynx.</p>","PeriodicalId":76463,"journal":{"name":"Revista interamericana de radiologia","volume":"6 2","pages":"35-42"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1981-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"18281029","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Four patients (22%) had non-visualization of the gallbladder on scintigraphy producing a false-positive incidence of approximately 6% for acute cholecystitis.
