{"title":"[Certain methodological problems concerning the study of occupational morbidity and morbidity related to work].","authors":"N Tsatcheva","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><p>Research on occupational and occupationally-related morbidity is essential for setting up a system of measures designed to promote health and well-being in industrial workers. The right conclusions can only be drawn and the adequate decisions made after data on occupational and occupationally-related diseases have been accurately stored, processed, interpreted and evaluated. Starting from the vast amount of information collected in some branches of national economy and yielded by routine statistic procedures, the author attempts to assess systems of storage and retrieval currently used for decision-oriented data. Experience in the application of preventive measures against dental caries and periodontal diseases in children of the Latvian S.S.R].","authors":"V V Kanep,&nbsp;G I Kadnikova,&nbsp;L H Baron,&nbsp;L P Melnikova","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><p>A 3-year study of the efficacy of the complex prophylaxis system of stomatological diseases in children showed that the severity of dental caries, according to the CFE index, diminished by 65.6 per cent in the children included in the clinical trial and by 23.5 per cent in the children undergoing mass examination. Babeş\" Institute enriches the specialty literature, vouching the medical-historic significance of the very moment it was founded. It is through the foundation of the Institute of Pathology and Bacteriology in 1887 under the leadership of prof. dr. V. Babeş, that new perspectives are opening towards a bright tradition of he Romanian medicine regarding public health development in Romania. Major tool in researching and solving of some main preventive medical public health questions, the \"V. Research was conducted in three major food catering units both before and after completion of health education courses. In order to assess workers' awareness, they were asked to fill in a questionnaire pertaining to their sanitary information and their approaches to washing up, cleaning and disinfection. Samples taken from tableware, tools and workers' hands were tested microbiologically.
