Due to the inability of the routine use of right heart catheterization in veterinary patients, there is a lack of differential criteria between PH forms. This study was performed to verify ePLAR as a differential marker in PH forms. Analyze wide specter of echocardiography-derived markers and novel ePLAR-marker to find efficient parameters in PH differentiation and ePLAR accuracy. We studied 59 dogs of different sex, age and breed. Groups were formed according to a primary pathology: Healthy dogs (HD, n = 8); dogs with MMVD and postcapillary PH (PostPH, n = 23); dogs with MMVD and precapillary PH (PrePH, n = 28). Animals in the study were diagnosed with the primary disease by standard echocardiographic methods and algorithms. In Post PH, LA was significantly larger than in the PrePH and the control. Left vertical walls were thicker in the PrePH than in the PostPH. Left ventricle diameter was higher in the PostPH than in the control and the Pre-PH. PV was smaller in the PrePH than in the Post PH and the control (р<0.001 and р<0.021). PV/RPA in the PrePH was lower than in the control and in the PostPH (р<0.001). AT was lower in the PrePH and the PostPH. AT/ET ratio was higher in the control to both experimental. AT/ET was lower in the PrePH to the PostPH. RV was dilated both in the PrePH and the PostPH to control. RV wall thickness was increased in the PrePH in comparison to both control and PostPH. Significant reductionin E-wave velocity for both the PrePH and PostPH to control and PostPH; reduction in A-wave; decreased Е/А. TR velocity was higher in both experimental to control, but didn't differ between each other. ePLAR increased in the PrePH and PostPH to control. In this study we found several echocardiographic parameters to differentiate Pre-and Post-PH forms: LA, LA/Ao, LV diameter, LV/RPA, IVS thickness and a novel in veterinary studies index EPLAR.","PeriodicalId":7561,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Animal and Veterinary Sciences","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49004461","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study characterizes the composition and metabolic function of the cattle gut microbiome associated with different levels of parasite Fecal Egg Counts (FEC) and characterizes the fecal microbiome before and after ricobendazole-treatment. The hypothesis was that FEC levels and ricobendazole treatment (8 mL/animal RICOVERM 15 g) alter the fecal microbiome structure and predicted functionality. Fecal samples from Angus yearling steers (live weight: 249±19 kg) with Low-FEC (<100 epg) and High-FEC (840±207 epg) were collected at three-time points: Pre-Treatment (PRE-T) and 3- and 10-days post-treatment (POST-T3 and POST-T10, respectively). After DNA extraction, high-throughput sequencing of bacterial 16S rRNA amplicons and associated bioinformatics analyses were performed. Microbiome analysis revealed evidence of beta-diversity association with time of sampling. Samples collected post-treatment were characterized by higher microbial richness (alpha diversity) and increased abundance ( P <0.05) of Alistipes (POST-T3) and Ruminococcaceae _UCG-010 (POST-T10) compared with samples PRE-T. On the other hand, Ruminococcaceae _UCG-014 and Christensenellaceae _ R-7_group genera were increased in samples from PRE-T compared with post-treatment. Predicted metagenome analysis revealed that biosynthesis of nucleotides, nucleosides, vitamins and amino acids were the metabolic pathways most affected due to ricobendazole-treatment. On the other hand, no significant differences in microbial diversity, microbiome composition and predicted metabolic pathways were observed pre-treatment between Low-FEC and High-FEC cattle. In general, these findings revealed that ricobendazole-administration altered the microbial diversity and composition in the feces of cattle, which led to changes in the metabolic pathways of the microbiome. This study provides a first known insight into the relationship between the microbiome and the exposure to ricobendazole in grazing cattle and sets a basis for the development of future studies comprising a larger number of animals and different anthelmintic drugs.","PeriodicalId":7561,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Animal and Veterinary Sciences","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46685036","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research aims to evaluate the success rate of doubledose artificial insemination at different times in Ongole crossbred cattle. This research was done in cattle household farms in Senggreng Village, Sumber Pucung District, Malang Regency, East Java, Indonesia. Fifty cattle involved randomly in this research met the criteria; Ongole crossbred, 4-11 years old, minimum Body Condition Score 3 points (1-9 points scale), reproductive sound, have given birth. Twenty-five cattle (T1) were inseminated 2 and 8 h after the estrus sign, while the other 25 (T2) were inseminated 8 h and 16 h after the estrus sign. After the first insemination, the cattle were injected with vitamin Bio ATP 10 mL and 3 kg concentrate feed (protein 12%) for three days. The next estrus sign was observed for the first and second cycles (NRR1 and NRR2). Re-insemination was done to cattle with an estrus sign-on NRR1. Palpation per rectal and ultrasonography was performed to determine the conception rate, pregnancy rate and services per conception. The study showed that double-dose artificial insemination at 2 and 8 h (T1) had better results than T2 (8 and 16 h). NRR1 for T1 = 84 and T2 = 76%; NRR2 for T1 = 80 and T2 = 76%; Conception Rate of T1 = 44% and T2 = 32%; Pregnancy Rate of T1 = 64 and T2 = 52%; services per conception of T1 = 1,32 and T2 = 1,24. In conclusion, double dose artificial insemination given at the 2 and 8 h after estrus sign had better result on pregnancy than double dose insemination given at the 8 and 16 h.","PeriodicalId":7561,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Animal and Veterinary Sciences","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49434639","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They were euthanized and inspected for helminths and protozoa infection. Faecal sampling was carried out directly from recti and the oocysts or cysts were isolated using sedimentation and floatation techniques and the sporulated oocyst were identified based on morphological. Endo parasites infestation was encountered in 12 (40%) of Necropside rabbits. Two different Nematodes and one species of Metacestoda and two different protozoa were identified in the contaminated cases. The endo parasites found were identified as: Passalurus ambigus (6.66%), Trichostrongylus retortaeformis (6.66%), cysticercus pisiformis (13.33%), Eimeria magna (10%), Eimeria steidae (3.33%). Wild rabbits are a potential source of human parasitic zoonosis. Public health concerns indicate the need for epidemiological studies on zoonotic diseases affecting wildlife species that are a source of food for humans. In this respect, the role of wild rabbits as reservoirs of zoonotic parasites has been widely documented.","PeriodicalId":7561,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Animal and Veterinary Sciences","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46887931","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The design used in the study was a completely randomized design consisting of 6 treatments and three replications. The treatments tested were six types of swamp grass which were then coded for each treatment as follows: Hymenachne Acutigluma (HA1), Hymenachne Amplexicaulis (HA2), Oryza Rufipogon (OR), Rhynchospora Corymbose (RC), Eleocharis Dulcis (ED) and Leersia Hexandra (LH). The observed variables in this study were degradation rate and Analysis of fiber fraction content in each grass includes Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF), Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF), Hemicellulose and Cellulose. The results showed that ED grass had the highest total digestibility value for each fiber fraction variable. The rate of degradation shows an interesting pattern where Overall, the value of fractions a, b and c for each observation parameter showed a significant difference (P<0.05). Based on this study, it can be concluded that ED grass has the best fiber digestibility than other types of swamp grass and is very potential for buffalo livestock due to its high degradation rate.","PeriodicalId":7561,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Animal and Veterinary Sciences","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47898466","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
