[The surgical treatment of knee joint extensor muscle contractures]. 膝关节伸肌挛缩的手术治疗。

{"title":"[The surgical treatment of knee joint extensor muscle contractures].","authors":"C Falkiewisz,&nbsp;F Fengler,&nbsp;W Hein","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><p>It is reported about the results after operative mobilization of knee joint in 19 patients with contractures of extension muscles of knee joints. After operative arthrolysis and/or Payr-Plasty the range of motion has increased on average from 23 degrees to 92 degrees (a relative gain of 52%). Patients with traumatic knee contracture of extension muscle achieved an improvement in the range of movement on average by 76 degrees, whereas those with contracture due to infection improved on average by only 43 degrees. The so called nail, which is 5 mm in diameter and sufficient long is a usefull flexible nail for the operative treatment of the above mentioned fractures. After that in a retrospective study are represented multimorbidity and perioperative complications of 2,000 patients with total hip joint replacement performed between 1979 and 1987. The fatality was 1.6%, the rate of fatal lung-embolism 1.85%. Results from a questionnaire suggest a neurotic disturbance in nearly 40 per cent of the cases. The importance of psychosocial factors to the formation course and the prognosis of diseases of the locomotor system is being discussed.
