These must be inspected regularly to ensure safety and quality. As this equipment keeps on moving from department to department, it has to be located in one place for annual inspection and must be properly documented after quality check. Conventionally, barcodes, QR codes, and manual entry of the required data are used as a tracking method which requires tedious human efforts without delivering the expected results for registration, tracking, and maintenance. A fully or semi-automated computerized system would be desirable in this case. Radio frequency identification systems which consist of tag, reader, and database can be used for tracking. This article presents new innovative RFID based system which is dedicated to quality assurance of radiological protection wear specifically lead aprons. This process facilitates the service management of hospitals.","PeriodicalId":73253,"journal":{"name":"Hospitals","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70451384","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The workload analysis and competency gaps analysis used to determine the ideal number of academic staff that needed as well the competencies. The results were expected to be used in planning academic staff in Faculty A. The results showed that the released ideal number of academic staff by the Directorate of Human Resources of the University of XYZ in 2012 to 2030 was no longer relevant for use. Currently, there were 97 academic staff exist in Faculty A. It was higher than an ideal of 81 persons from the workload analysis findings. There were competency gaps in both core and managerial. The findings suggested policies to reduce academic staff, especially non-civil servants, by continuing to prioritize applicable regulations.","PeriodicalId":73253,"journal":{"name":"Hospitals","volume":"44 9 1","pages":"68-71"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45765161","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Long-term care concerns individuals who are no longer able to carry out basic daily activities. Most of the care is currently provided by informal caregivers, mainly the family, while the role of formal care provided by the state or the market remains small. The chapter explains, however, why informal care is expected to decline and analyses the low private insurance development, the so-called long-term care insurance puzzle. These two factors, the decreasing role of the family and a thin insurance market, plead for the development of a full fledge social insurance for long-term care. The chapter then looks at the optimal design of such an insurance.","PeriodicalId":73253,"journal":{"name":"Hospitals","volume":"38 1","pages":"101-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43439567","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
