Revision rhinoplasty is a complex procedure but can yield successful outcomes for patients. This study aims to analyse the success rates, complications, and patient satisfaction of revision rhinoplasty through a comprehensive review of existing literature and statistical analysis of relevant data. Methods: A thorough review of the existing literature on revision rhinoplasty was conducted using various online databases, including PubMed and Google Scholar. Studies published between 2000 and 2022 were included in this review. Data was extracted from these studies and analysed to evaluate the success rates, complications, and patient satisfaction of revision rhinoplasty. Statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS software. Results: The analysis of 24 studies showed that the success rate of revision rhinoplasty was around 70- 80%, which is significantly lower than that of primary rhinoplasty. The most common complications of revision rhinoplasty were bleeding, infection, and nasal obstruction. However, these complications were generally minor and could be managed effectively. Patient satisfaction rates with revision rhinoplasty were high, with most patients reporting improvement in their nasal appearance and function. Conclusions: The results of this study suggest that revision rhinoplasty can lead to significant improvements in both nasal function and aesthetics, despite a lower success rate than primary rhinoplasty","PeriodicalId":72607,"journal":{"name":"Clinical case reports and reviews","volume":"49 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80710277","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Symptoms of COVID-19 can range from mild to severe and include fever, cough, and difficulty breathing. As research deepens, more and more data indicate that the number of patients continue to experience symptoms of COVID-19 long after they have recovered from the initial illness. We summarized the long COVID-19 symptoms in an integrated way and found that the symptoms of each system are correlated to some extent, suggesting that a multi-system evaluation is necessary when treating COVID-19, rather than merely focusing on treating individual systems. As the novel coronavirus is a new virus and the human immune system's response mechanisms are not yet fully understood, the impact of long COVID-19 may last for a significant period of time. This review may help clinical practitioners gain a comprehensive understanding of long COVID-19 to alleviate patients’ affection","PeriodicalId":72607,"journal":{"name":"Clinical case reports and reviews","volume":"215 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73750063","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Case: This patient presented with PCOS including dysfunctional uterine bleeding, obesity, and hypothyroidism. Genetic evaluation revealed no specific findings other than probable PCOS in her mother, and review of her past history showed presence of non-metastatic choriocarcinoma in her placenta. Conclusion: This patient was the surviving twin whose vanishing twin was a probable hydatidiform mole resulting in choriocarcinoma of placental site facilitating testosterone crossing the placenta to cause androgenization. Teaching Points Vanishing twin can be considered a risk factor for polycystic ovary syndrome in surviving twin. Since polycystic ovary syndrome is not diagnosed until after puberty, history of vanishing twin can give an extra emphasis on early prevention of the many serious sequelae of this condition.","PeriodicalId":72607,"journal":{"name":"Clinical case reports and reviews","volume":"88 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74274335","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Without adequate preoperative preparation, excessive catecholamine release can result in life-threatening cardiovascular complications. To control blood pressure during the surgery, an infusion of sodium nitroprusside and dexmedetomidine was administered. Dexmedetomidine helps prevent hemodynamic instability during the tumor resection and was a way of interrupting the catecholamine release. This report attempts to address the preoperative and intraoperative issues in managing these challenging tumors with an emphasis on other therapeutic options to control the adrenergic crisis during the surgery.","PeriodicalId":72607,"journal":{"name":"Clinical case reports and reviews","volume":"28 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89377799","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The patient was an 83-year-old Japanese woman. Her chief complaint was swelling of the tongue for half a year. Fine needle biopsy from her tongue mass was performed at a previous hospital and showed no malignant cells. This hospital introduced her to our hospital for the purpose of scrutiny.At the first visit to our Department of Otorhinolaryngology, the tongue surface showed no erosion or ulcer, but hard tumors were palpable in the subepithelium of the central region of the tongue. Open biopsy of this tumor was performed and was diagnosed as T-cell lymphoma. PET-CT revealed no metastasis findings and bone marrow biopsy showed abnormal findings. This lymphoma was classified as Stage I (Ann Arbor classification). We consulted the Department of Hematology and she received chemotherapy by hematologists. Two years have passed since the start of chemotherapy. At present, this lymphoma shows no growth in the tongue or whole body","PeriodicalId":72607,"journal":{"name":"Clinical case reports and reviews","volume":"26 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90742555","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
