It is good to realize in what condition we keep the cattle - unsuitable floors and bed boxes, greasy microclimate, frequent movement between groups of animals, significant changes in the feed ration - all this affects the health of claws. Lameness and claw lesions have a great impact on production, welfare and health of dairy cows. They decreases milk yield, have a negative impact on reproductive traits and fertility performance and therefore lameness increases costs including medicine, detection of lameness, control and prevention, and creates losses including reduced milk production, non-sellable milk, reduced reproductive performance, increased culling and animal death. To reduce the effect of claw disorders on dairy cattle, it is necessary to apply the most efficient combination of available methods of prevention. The most effective is the combination of early detection and diagnosis, regular claw trimming, proper diet and clean and suitable enviroment. The aim of this review was to cumulate the existing informations of aspects of claw lessions and known preventive methods for breeders of dairy herds.","PeriodicalId":7174,"journal":{"name":"Acta Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42600500","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study was performed at the state enterprise Lesy SR, a branch plant in Smolenice on the territory of Forrest District Majdan. In order to perform a thickness analysis of the beech logs, it was necessary to know the number of annual rings on the butt end and the number of annual rings on the small end. Based on these two quantities, it was necessary to derive the number of annual rings in the middle of the trunk. All these characteristics were related to the length of the stem and the thickness of the stem. The data set contained 1000 logs. For a period of 3 years - i.e. from 2017 to 2019 in total for all types of intentional felling, starting with tending intentional felling up to 50 years, tendingt intentional felling over 50 years and ending with prescribed final felling, incidential felling was not included in the investigation. The aim of this publication was to determine the thickness characteristics of beech stem logs, which are characterized in the territory of branch Smolenice by a full-wood stem and to create input quantities for a model log of a beech stem. The results include the average width of annual rings depending on the length of the stem, the average number of annual rings per 1 meter of length, the average reduction in the number of annual rings depending on the length recalculated per 1 meter of length, the average height increment. The results showed interesting findings, the largest average width of annual rings was recorded in improvement intentional felling over 50 years, despite advanced age. Another interesting finding was the average height gain of 0.5 m. The average number of annual rings served to confirm the accuracy of the calculation of the stem thickness depending on the width of the annual ring. The average reduction in the number of annual rings showed the convergence of the stem in cm depending on the length of the cut.","PeriodicalId":7174,"journal":{"name":"Acta Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47794438","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

S. hortensis planting density at four levels (50, 75, 100 and 125 plants per m2) was the first factor and hand weeding in 4 times (2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks after planting- WAP), 3 times (2, 4 and 8 WAP), 2 times (4 and 8 WAP) and weedy check as second factor. Dominant weeds were included redroot pigweed (Amaranthus retroflex L.), black nightshade (Solanum nigrum L.) and lambsquarters (Chenopodium album L.) in this field. Increasing Satureja hortensis density under densities of 50, 75 and 100 plants per m2 with weeding especially four times, significantly increased the dry weight and content of EO and yield of this plant. But the delay in the weeding times, such as twice weeding, significantly reduced this trait. This indicates that weeding in S. hortensis should be done at the beginning of the growing season due to its slow growth. Also, increasing the density of S. hortensis from 100 to 125 plants per m2 intensifies competition, so that its EO yield content decreased despite increasing the number of weeding times compared to the weedy check. Overall, due to the favorable effect of weed control under three or four weeding times on dry weight and content and EO yield of S. hortensis, weeding at the mentioned times is recommended in Gonbad Kavous area and areas with similar conditions to Gonbad Kavous.","PeriodicalId":7174,"journal":{"name":"Acta Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47347405","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, the experiment has been conducted to determine the influence of distillers dried grains with solubles as a part of feed mixtures on young quail meat productivity. To carry out the experiment, 5 groups, 100 quail heads in each, have been formed. Quails in the control group 1 did not receive distillers dried grains with solubles as a part of their feed mixture. Quails in the experimental groups 2, 3, 4 and 5 were fed by, respectively, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% of distillers dried grains with solubles in complex with feed mixture. The experiment lasted for 35 days. Due to the daily body weight (thereinafter - BW) gain in average for the entire farming period, quails in the experimental group 5 gave in to quails in the control group by 0.16 g or 2.5% (P < 0.01), while the experimental group 2 outweighed them by 0.09 g or 1.4%, group 3 - by 0.19 g or 3% (P < 0.01), group 4 - by 0.13 g or 2.1% (P < 0.01). The lowest feed consumption per 1 kg of quail weight gain was observed in the experimental group 3, that gave in to quails in the control group by 78 g or 2.4%. The experimental groups 2 and 4 had the same indicators, that gave in to quails in the control group by 31 g or 0.9%. And only the experimental group 5 consumed 61 g or 1.8% more feed per 1 kg of BW gain in comparison to the control group. Evaluation of slaughter characteristics in quails, by means of complete feed mixtures with different content of distillers dried grains with solubles, has shown that the experimental group quails achieved the highest indicators.","PeriodicalId":7174,"journal":{"name":"Acta Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47035943","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Harlequin ladybirds were collected in selected localities during the 2019 vegetation season. Their resistance to active substances (lambda-cyhalothrin and thiacloprid in various concentrations) was then tested. In the thiacloprid test, the commercial formulation of Biscaya 240 OD was used. Testing was performed pursuant to the Insecticide Resistance Action Committee (IRAC) methods using the adult-vial-test. The efficiency of the active substance used was assessed, and tested individuals were divided into groups (Alive, Dead, or Tremor) according to their physical condition. From the values obtained, mortality was calculated at 100% of the dose of each active substance. Subsequently, the results were elaborated using the specialised program of POLO PLUS 2.0, which calculates the values of a lethal dose - LD50, LD90 and LD95. Mortality was assessed depending on the dose increase of tested active substances. According to the mortality assessed and calculated lethal doses, it was observed that populations of the harlequin ladybird are sensitive to the affect of tested active substances. Since these are one-year results, it is difficult to determine if a selection of resistant populations will occur.","PeriodicalId":7174,"journal":{"name":"Acta Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47101288","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The second goal is to identify a possible impact of VAT control statements on tax evasion. For this purpose, the following tools have been used: calls for submission of control statements, reasons to initiate inspection arising from matching the control statements, tax audits, and the process to remove tax doubts. Using the foregoing tools, the theoretical fiscal revenue is quantified and then compared with the VAT gap from 2015 to 2016. The VAT gap is measured by adjusting the gross domestic product; the data from the national accounts database published by the Czech Statistical Office are used as the basic data source. The authors have arrived at the conclusion that once the financial administration implemented the selected tools for total tax collection, then right after implementing the VAT control statements in 2016 the VAT gap slightly decreased in comparison with the previous year (and in proportion to year-on-year comparison of GDP), which resulted in the increase in the overall VAT collection.","PeriodicalId":7174,"journal":{"name":"Acta Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49189475","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the most detrimental species is the sika deer (Cervus nippon), a native Asian deer that has settled in several districts of the Czech Republic and has widely colonized the area with increasing population numbers. In this study we aimed to investigate the trend of the number of sika deer culled in the country between 1994 and 2018, and to highlight limits and flaws in the current management and hunting strategy. We identified three hunting subpopulations based on both the official hunting records and the environmental and urban features of the Czech Republic. The analyses of the subpopulations over the period between 1994 and 2018 revealed very different trends, some of which are alarming. The average annual increase in culling was 7.4% for Subpopulation 1 (SP1), 1% for Subpopulation 2 (SP2), and 3.7% for Subpopulation 3 (SP3). Considered the increased percentages of culled deer, and the environmental features of the country, we evaluated the central subpopulation (SP2) as the easiest to manage due to its small area of extension, the scarcity of forested regions and, as possible contribution, the natural occurrence of predators. Being the other two subpopulations spread across larger forested areas and hosting a higher number of deer, we concluded that an increasing effort, and a more well-designed strategy to ensure accuracy of hunting plans seems to be impelling for the country.","PeriodicalId":7174,"journal":{"name":"Acta Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42820261","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, we focus on individual factors potentially related to this negative trend, based primarily on long-term angling catch data (2000-2020) for twenty fishing grounds of the Czech and Moravian angling unions covering twelve upland trout streams. The results indicate that angling pressure, expressed as annual number of attendances, is the most important factor in the decline of trout populations, with drought caused by climate change as a secondary factor. There is a clear need for changes in current fisheries management practice, using new sustainable development scenarios, in order to protect and improve unfavourable conditions for natural brown trout populations.","PeriodicalId":7174,"journal":{"name":"Acta Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47423334","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Specifically, the study is focusing on: 1) identification of the importance of a brand in comparison with packaging, price and quality label in online purchases, 2) finding milk with maximum utility for consumers, and 3) revealing the most preferred brand of milk when other attributes stay the same. Data were collected in September 2018 through an online survey, using full-profile conjoint analysis. A total of 185 respondents 18+ living in the Czech Republic, selected by quota sampling method concerning the role of men and women in household food purchases, completed a questionnaire. Research results reveal that brand is the most important extrinsic quality cue affecting milk choice in online purchases, with relative importance 50.3%. The importance of other surveyed attributes is balanced, with 18.6% for packaging, 17.6% for price and 13.5% for quality label. Comparison of consumer preferences for three different brands of milk with otherwise the same attributes revealed the highest preference for brand coming from the region. A familiar brand plays a key role in maintaining a competitive position in the online grocery market.","PeriodicalId":7174,"journal":{"name":"Acta Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47560079","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study of sanitary condition of the refrigeration equipment of a meat processing plants of the Almaty region of Kazakhstan was carried out by classical methods of microbiology and metagenomic analysis. Methods of classical microbiology allowed to identify the following microflora of refrigerating chambers of meat processing enterprises: bacteria Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus mesentericus, Pseudomonas sp., Sarcina flava, yeast Rhodotorula sp., mycelial fungi Penicillium sp., Alternaria sp., Mucor sp., Aspergillus sp., Chrososporum sp., Tamnidium sp. Metagenomic analysis showed that the bacterial microflora of refrigerating chambers is mainly represented by three phyla: Firmicutes (95.33%-97.94%), Proteobacteria (1.39%-1.02%), Actinobacteria (1.11%-0.63%) and their ratio depends on the temperature of the refrigerators well as on the observance of hygiene standards by personnel.
