The aim of this paper is to detect and classify two types of seizures: Tonic and myoclonic based on surface electromyography signals. Based on data from eight sEMG electrodes on the biceps brachii, flexor carpi ulnaris, gastrocnemius and quadriceps muscle. Several time domain features were investigated, including waveform length, mean absolute value, variance, mobility, complexity, kurtosis, skewness, simple square integral, integrated EMG, root mean square, average amplitude change, standard deviation and entropy. These features are used as inputs to the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) classifier to determine if a data segment corresponds to a seizure or not. Following the development of the ANN model, an evaluation performance in terms of accuracy is presented to validate the results, which reached an accuracy of 93.33%. The overall performance of the presented machine learning algorithm is sufficient for clinical implementation.","PeriodicalId":6799,"journal":{"name":"2021 18th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD)","volume":"696 ","pages":"421-426"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91465973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this purpose, the measurements were performed in the frequency range of 1 Hz to 7 MHz, where two areas of dispersion are indicated, $alpha$ dispersion at low frequency and $beta$ dispersion at high frequency. The result shows that the cylindrical electrode is more suitable for measurement because it solves the problem of fiber anisotropy. A piezoelectric nanocomposite based on Ba0.85Ca0.15Zr0.1Ti0.9O3 (BCZT) nanoparticles and PDMS polymer with excellent output properties for the application of nanogenerators has been developed. The piezoelectric nanogenerator is smart device that offers these required qualities and properties and converts mechanical energy. Here PENG can generate an open circuit voltage of 10 V respectively under the effect of light finger tapping. It reaches an output power of $mathrm{P}=2.218 mumathrm{W}$ for a resistance $mathrm{R}=370 mathrm{k}Omega$ under shaker vibration. This generator is known by its simple and ordinary design as well its high performance after polarization. However, the polarization is long and unsafe. To avoid this problem, a homogeneous distribution of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) on the BCZT/PDMS matrix is the best solution to have self-polarized generator. In this study, piezoelectric nanocomposites were prepared using solution mixing method. A comparative study was performed to investigate the impact of CNTs on the performance of nanogenrators under external mechanical load. The nanogenerator with 15 wt.% BCZT doped with CNTs offers an outstanding output performance with an open circuit voltage of 15 V and an output power $mathrm{P}=5.68029 mumathrm{W}$ at a resistance load $mathrm{R}=350 mathrm{k}Omega$ using the shaker device.","PeriodicalId":6799,"journal":{"name":"2021 18th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD)","volume":"1 1","pages":"889-894"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91089860","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main contribution of the article is the elaboration of an algorithm dedicated to manage the energy in the hybrid fuel cell/battery DC bus feeding the SAPF. Design of active and passive components is presented. The control circuit is based on the SRF algorithm for detecting the reference harmonic currents and on the phase-shifted carrier-based PWM technique for gating signals generation. Moreover, dimensioning of the SAPF input DC bus voltage and AC output current PI regulators are provided. The study is validated through computer simulations using MATLAB/Simulink. The checked THDs of the feeder voltage and current, power factor and current unbalance rate, demonstrate a satisfying improvement in the power quality of the feeder.","PeriodicalId":6799,"journal":{"name":"2021 18th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD)","volume":"19 1","pages":"330-339"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82359490","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, the performance of the monitoring system is dependent strongly of the hardware capability of the deployed nodes, as well as of the communication protocols and data transmission strategies. In this work, a new wireless sensor node is introduced. The node uses MSP430FR5969 microcontroller, which offers a high processing capability with reduced energy consumption and has a maximum operating frequency of 16 MHz. The node is compact in size with a dimension of dimensions $53times 33 mm^{2}$. The node consumes an average of 27.35 mA during transmission. Current consumption during the sleep and idle modes are 0.33 mA and 31 mA, respectively. An outdoor application is presented, where the node is equipped with a solar panel for energy harvesting. The battery voltage variation and the Received Signal Strength (RSSI) were continuously measured and evaluated.","PeriodicalId":6799,"journal":{"name":"2021 18th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD)","volume":"68 1","pages":"241-248"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80342829","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thereby, sensors based on carbon nanotubes (CNT) materials are gaining importance due to their high flexibility, sensitivity and medical compatibility. Nanocomposite based strain sensors present an interesting potential of movements detection that helps to build the basis for body attached sensor networks, which have the capability for tracking finger movements, gestures and grasping. However, the output of the sensor is noisy and having outliers due to the random deformation of the CNT conductive paths during applied strain, which needs to be filtered. This paper presents S-TPU/C-TPU strain sensors attached to a glove for hand gesture recognition. A filtering study has been conducted of four digital filters for real-time processing of the recorded data (Moving average, Moving median, Savitzky-Golay, and Gaussian), which is required to improve the quality of the data for better gesture identification and classification. The filters are evaluated based on their real-time response and smoothing performance. The Savitzky-Golay filter was found to be the most suitable filter to remove the inherent noises and smooth the baseline and curves of the signal with a fast real-time response equal to 0.072s.","PeriodicalId":6799,"journal":{"name":"2021 18th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD)","volume":"5 1","pages":"1366-1371"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81987929","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
