In recent years, with the development of network technology, the number of devices connected to the network is increasing exponentially as the number of devices increases, the risk of attacks increases. Therefore, blockchain plays a vital role in protecting IoT systems. In this paper, we propose and discuss a decentralized connection management mechanism to eliminate the threat associated with IoT by using blockchain’s smart contract. We proposed a multi-layer management mechanism to reduce the cost of smart contract processing costs due to a large number of IoT devices. We also proposed a tool to manage the connection of IoT devices using smart contracts. In the evaluation, we evaluated our proposed management scheme by applying two types of connection structure i.e., hub-based layer and sink-based layer. The novelty of this method is the implementation of a hierarchical management system for each layer. The systematic approach offered by the domain-specific language for system testing eliminates miscommunications between testers and requirement engineers making the testing closer to the requirement engineers. This concept enables automation in the generation of the tests based on given System Requirements in the future. As many would argue on V-Model’s difficulty to align system requirements and system tests, this approach enables better mapping between those two parts of the V-diagram. The emergence of drones, robots, remote sensors, data science, and Big Data, has been deeply influencing all aspects of farming and food.This paper describes in detail the development of a tool to be implemented in a future web platform called eAgro. The web platform will serve all members of agriculture to promote themselves and their products, to create a thriving environment for businesses, and to serve as an organizing tool in the large community of agricultural workers. The tool discussed in this paper analyses the weather conditions of an area, coupled with the soil analysis of land to give predictions and suggestions for crop growth and fertilization, using elements of data science and developed formulas. In this paper, we present a new mobility model that describes students’ daily activities in a campus environment. As opposed to the conventional models such as a Random walk, Random waypoint, Random direction, etc which uses a free space environment, our model includes obstacles of different shapes and sizes that obstruct movement and signal propagation. We evaluate the model using ONE simulator by comparing it with the Working Day Model and Random Waypoint. The model synthetically generates traces with the distribution of contact duration and inter-contact time similar to the distribution of real traces. Such a system combines renewable generations with conventional distributed generations, storage systems, and loads in one entity operating in both isolated and grid-connected modes. However, it also associates with a high level of uncertainty and volatility following climatic conditions. Therefore, energy management strategies in operating MGs plays a crucial role in term of economic and reliability. This paper investigates a method applying constrained multi-swarm particle swarm optimization without velocity-based model predictive control to optimize the operation cost in small scale PV-MGs. The results are compared with the linear programming algorithm. The results show the effective modified particle swarm optimization embedded in the model predictive control algorithm performed well. Nowa days the price of pineapple depends on the size of the pineapple and also the type of pineapple that are related to the quality of pineapples. Different consumers have different desired size and weight of their purchased pineapples for their purposes. Consequently, traders and farmers need to sort the size of the pineapples to better understand the relationship among supplies and demands so that the values of pineapples can be maximized. Thus, this study proposes a system can automatically determine the size (i.e. length, diameter, and circumference) and the weight of pineapples to avoid laborious intensive and inconsistent manual sorting process that may deteriorate the consumers’ interest due to wrong sorted fruits. Different positions and sizes of pineapples were investigated and studied. The performance of the proposed system was compared with manual measurement method.
