The description of both the methods of semi-supervised regression and feature ranking, as well as the theorethical foundation of the proposed feature ranking approach are also given. To evaluate the proposed methodology, a real-world polymerization industrial process was used as example. The daily rainfall records is 50 years long from 1961 to 2011. We study the statistical properties of the daily rainfall data and return intervals Tq between two consecutive rainfall records above some threshold q. Using the detrended fluctuation analysis (DFA) method to analyze the long-term correlation properties of the rainfall record y(n) and return intervals Tq, we find that the long-term correlation is not exist in rainfall record, while a weak long-term correlation is found in return intervals, pointing to a random regulation of rainfall dynamics. For this purpose, the simulation environment is connected to a generic middleware and processes parameterized simulation requests via automated model generation and execution, based on current shop floor conditions. Those simulation requests are formulated in a standardized description language for production systems, in this case a derivative of AutomationML (AML) that was extended by simulation specific data sets. The proposed methodology does not require any initialization at all, it can start with an empty set of fuzzy control rules or with a simple collection of fuzzy control rules obtained from an expert operator. The FLC design is online, using only the input/output data obtained during the normal operation of the system while it is being controlled. The FLC is composed of a simple structure, where each input variable has its own set of fuzzy control rules, and is evaluated individually by the proposed methodology avoiding the high increase in the number of fuzzy control rules. The FLC structure and their antecedent and consequent parameters are both online modified by the proposed methodology. Only simple information about the system and controller is need, specifically the universe of discourse of the input and output variables, an information that is mandatory to control any process. These malfunctions can be caused by faults in the control software of the aPS or its inability to correctly identify and handle unintended situations and errors in the technical process or hardware behavior. To achieve more dependable control software, software testing and formal verification can be used to find faults in the software, but require to make assumptions about possible situations (inputs) occurring in the aPS during runtime and often only allow the validation of specific cases. Monitoring individual functions within the control software during runtime can help to identify unspecified situations and raise warnings of the uncertainty about the suitability of a reaction. Yet, the design of reliable monitoring functions requires extensive experience and resources. For this reason, we propose a method for generating monitoring functions from available testing and verification specifications initially used for validating a control software function. Through this, it is possible to continuously assess the behavior of individual software functions and to identify and warn about a) violations of the test specification during runtime and b) unintended situations in which correct software behavior was never tested. The absence of a standard interface for coupling the open source EPANET software package to optimization algorithms increases the implementation effort and limits the comparison of results. This work presents a methodology for implementing an interface for coupling optimization algorithms with EPANET. The proposed technique uses the internal simulation clock events in a discrete event simulation platform to co-ordinate optimization loops and data exchange. The utilization of intermediate input/output files is avoided in order to increase the simulation speed. A water distribution network implemented in the EPANET solver is considered as a discrete event to be interfaced with optimization algorithms. The interface module is implemented as a C/C++ mex-file for EPANET in the MATLAB/Simulink platform. The methodology enables the user to evaluate the fitness of the design parameters with easy access to data logging and visualization tools at run-time. This has resulted in developing separate own data model and query language for each NoSQL database. The lack of standards in data models and query languages make applications and data less portable using these databases. Further, absence of formal semantics in query languages inhibits a precise understanding of query over NoSQL databases. To handle these issues, in this paper, an ontology driven query language for NoSQL databases is proposed. The proposed query language provides an efficient and common abstraction over the operational aspects on various kinds of NoSQL databases. The language includes formal common syntax and semantics of distinct query operators of NoSQL databases and those are represented in Description Logic. When reaching the industrial level, the automation equipment present a large life cycle and the systems are many times conceived using proprietary protocols. Bringing interoperability to local automation is often a difficult task and changes in the functional structures, particularly in the case of critical infrastructures like the water industry, have to be of the lowest possible magnitude. The paper proposes a low-cost middleware OPC UA wrapping structure in order to assure interoperability of the local automation. The solution is also offering the possibility to monitor and control the local system, to create a local historian and to further implement control algorithms for existing structures or to optimize existing tags packaging for further Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) integration without modifying the local software. Unexpected bearing failures in such machines during field operation can lead to machine breakdown, which may have some pretty severe implications. However, the insufficiency of labeled samples is major problem for handling fault diagnosis problem. To address such concern, we propose a semi-supervised method for diagnosing faulty bearings by utilizing unlabeled samples. The superiority of our algorithm has been validated by comparison with other state-of art methods based on a rolling element bearing data. The classification accuracy of bearing data show that our algorithm is able to recognize different bearing fault categories effectively.
