The pathogenesis of fungal keratitis involves fungi, corneal cells, inflammatory cell infiltration, collagen degradation, inflammatory cytokines and their interactions. Accumulated evidence indicated that Astragaloside IV (AS-IV) possesses a broad range of pharmacological properties, such as efficacy in anti-inflam-mation, alleviating fibrosis, and immunomodulatory effects. This paper sum-marizes new findings regarding AS-IV in immune and inflammatory diseases and analyzes the perspective application of Astragaloside IV in fungal keratitis.

MEOR can bes divided into indigenous microbial oil recovery and exogenous microbial oil recovery. The ultimate goal of indigenous microbial flooding is to enhance oil recovery via stimulation of specific indigenous microorganisms by injecting optimal nutrients. For studying the specific rule to activate the indigenous community during the long-term injection period, a series of indigenous displacement flooding experiments were carried out by using the long-core physical simulation test. The experimental results have shown that the movement of nutrients components (i.e., carbon/nitrogen/phosphorus) differed from the consumption of them. Moreover, there was a positive relationship between the nutrients concentration and bacteria concentration once observed in the produced fluid. And the trend of concentration of acetic acid was consistent with that of methanogens. When adding same activators, the impacts of selective activators to stimulate the indigenous microorganisms became worse along with the injection period, which led to less oil recovery efficiency.

The plant extracts were examined for antibacterial activity against antibiotic-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus haemolyticus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Proteus mirabilis using the agar well method (according to the guidelines of Clinical and Laboratory Standard Institute). The antioxidant potential of 3 plant leaf extracts was determined by their ability to convert Fe3+ to Fe2+ and scavenge the DPPH free radical. At all concentrations studied, the methanolic leaf extract had higher total phenolic and flavonoid content, as well as stronger antioxidant and antibacterial inhibitory activity compared to aqueous extract. Our findings with P. aeruginosa were especially interesting, because this bacterium was inhibited by methanol extract than that of the reference antibiotics. The results also demonstrated a link between DPPH radical scavenging ability, reducing power, and total phenolic and flavonoid content of plant extracts (r > 0.97, R2 > 0.95, P = 0.01). As a result, the methanolic leaf extract of the chosen plant might be employed as an effective antioxidant and antibacterial agent for the treatment of a variety of morbidities.

The algal biomass, lipid contents \u0000and composition were measured from the autotrophic, heterotrophic and \u0000mixotrophic cultured algal cells. Physicochemical parameters of the cassava \u0000wastewater and bioremediation potentials were measured. Biodiesel properties \u0000were deduced and compared with the standards. Irrespective of the culture condition, the predominant \u0000fatty acids were similar and included 11-Octadecenoic acid (vaccenic acid (C19H36O2), \u0000oleic acid (C18H34O2) and 14-methyl \u0000pentadecanoic acid (isopalmitic acid (C17H34O2). \u0000The percentage reduction of total dissolved solids was 79.32% and 89.78% for \u0000heterotrophy and mixotrophy respectively.
