Oyenike","doi":"10.4236/jbise.2022.151003","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.4236/jbise.2022.151003","url":null,"abstract":"The aim of this study is to determine the effects of cigarette smoking on carboxylhaemoglobin (COHb) and calcium levels in apparently healthy male cigarette smokers in Benin City, Nigeria. Thirty active cigarette smokers and thirty healthy, non-smokers within the same age range participated in this study. Serum COHb level was estimated using ELISA reagent from Calbiotech, USA, while calcium concentration was estimated spectrophotometrically with commercially purchased kit from Randox, UK. Results showed higher concentration of COHb but lower concentration of calcium level among the cigarette smokers when compared with the non-smokers. There were no statistically significant differences observed in COHb levels between smokers with regard to smoking duration (<5 yrs vs. ≥5 yrs; p = 0.893) and number of sticks of cigarette per day (<5 sticks/day vs. ≥5 sticks/day; p = 0.256). The recall characteristics of China’s toy products by the EU “Safety Gate” in terms of recall frequency, notified countries, taken measures, and reasons for recall were analyzed in this paper, and the risk factors of human health of unqualified products in terms of chemical hazards were studied in this paper. It is found that phthalate, boron, plumbum and cadmium were the main factors. Assessment of risk for boron in toys was conducted. Methods: The air spring with adjustable strength was used to provide the power of resistance active movement, and the neurological training cervical audio-visual synthesis training software was used to automatically guide patients to perform resistance active movement training of the cervical spine. Thirty two patients with cervical spondylosis were enrolled for treatment, and SPSS26 was used to statistically ana-lyze the VAS, Lovett muscle strength, head and neck range of motion and C2-3 vertebral body curvature before and after the treatment. Result: There were significant differences in posterior cervical muscle strength (Lovett), dizziness, shoulder and neck pain (VAS) and C2-3 vertebral curvature before and after training in 32 patients (p ˂ 0.001). This procedure is based on a hammering test that makes use of the fact that sound depends on the stability of the object. This technique is generally used in engineering. A system designed to avoid excessive stem hammering by predicting the intraoperative fracture risk based on this technique and software for real-time spectra analysis has been developed with repetitive improvements. The remaining technical challenge lies in selecting an appropriate sound collection device and building a compact and easy unit for use. This study reviewed the types of directional microphones suitable for the sound collection system to develop a practical THA support system. Four types of microphones based on selected methods were used to collect and compare the peak frequencies of the hammering sounds and make comparisons between them, and the built system was used to conduct clinical trials. For miniaturization and operational ease of the unit, plug-in unidirectional microphones are appropriate.
