However, their application is often hindered by the low visible light transmittance (Tlum) in the activated state. In this study, we propose a thermally and optically dual-responsive smart window that improves both building energy efficiency and Tlum in the activated state. The design is based on a polyacrylamide (PAm)/poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAm)/indium tin oxide (ITO) composite film (PPI). Within this structure, PAm provides a hydrophilic matrix, PNIPAm microgels enable thermoresponsive optical modulation through reversible transmittance changes across the response temperature, and ITO particles act as light-to-heat transducers due to their photothermal and infrared reflective properties. Compared with the PNIPAm hydrogel film, the PPI composite film increases Tlum in the activated state from 9.7% to 50.0% and enhances infrared modulation capability from 39.2% to 50.4%. Under an illumination intensity of 95 mW·cm-2, the PPI composite film lowers the indoor temperature of simulated buildings by up to 7 °C. This dual-responsive thermochromic window provides improved indoor visual comfort along with effective temperature regulation, offering a promising strategy for advancing the practical use of smart windows.","PeriodicalId":57226,"journal":{"name":"意象","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://oss.sciexplor.com/manuscript/477/publish/TX_202504.pdf","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147333031","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study developed an efficient ferromanganese oxide-modified biochar and explored the preparation conditions in detail. The surface of ferromanganese oxide-modified biochar was uniformly loaded with 100 nm nanoparticles, mainly comprising Mn<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub> and (FeO)<sub>0.099</sub>(MnO)<sub>0.901</sub>, and exhibited excellent copper citrate (CuCA) adsorption capacity. The removal rate of CuCA at an initial concentration of 10 mg L<sup>–1</sup> by 1 g L<sup>–1</sup> modified biochar reached 99.5% for Cu and 92.6% for total organic carbon (TOC), with a copper adsorption capacity of 3.79 mg g<sup>–1</sup>. The mechanisms of using modified biochar to remove CuCA include chemical adsorption at the bimetallic oxide's active sites and oxygen-containing functional groups on the surface of the biochar, as well as physical adsorption due to the porous structure of biochar. The modified biochar has significant potential for development in the removal of metal complexes in water with the advantage of efficient and easy preparation, good performance, and stability across a wide pH range and with some coexisting ions.","PeriodicalId":57226,"journal":{"name":"意象","volume":"1 1","pages":"0-0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.maxapress.com/data/article/opr/preview/pdf/bchax-0025-0001.pdf","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147331674","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Developing cost-effective, durable, and high-performance electrocatalysts from sustainable resources is therefore of great significance. Herein, we report a NiO/Fe<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub> heterojunction catalyst uniformly anchored on lignin-derived carbon fibers (NiO/Fe<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub>@LCFs), synthesized via an integrated electrospinning–preoxidation–carbonization strategy using alkali lignin and PAN as dual carbon–nitrogen sources. The embedded NiO/Fe<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub> nanoparticles and nitrogen-doped carbon fiber network synergistically provide abundant active sites, rapid electron/ion transport, and strong structural stability. Benefiting from this architecture, NiO/Fe<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub>@LCFs exhibits a low overpotential of 250 mV at 10 mA cm<sup>–2</sup> and excellent durability with less than 10 mV degradation after 50 h at 100 mA cm<sup>–2</sup>. The present approach demonstrates a scalable and renewable route to design efficient electrocatalysts by integrating biomass carbon supports with engineered bimetallic oxide interfaces, offering new insights for green energy conversion technologies.","PeriodicalId":57226,"journal":{"name":"意象","volume":"1 1","pages":"0-0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.maxapress.com/data/article/opr/preview/pdf/bchax-0025-0011.pdf","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147903485","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Presented herein is a new metal-free N- and S-codoped porous carbon (NSPC) by utilizing <italic>κ</italic>-carrageenan (a natural marine biomass with intrinsic sulfate groups) as a dual source of sulfur and carbon, alongside melamine (the N source) and K<sub>2</sub>CO<sub>3</sub> (the activator). This approach avoided the reliance on toxic exogenous sulfur reagents, simplifying the synthesis process while enhancing sustainability. The synthesized NSPC-700 exhibited a high specific surface area of 1,219.31 m<sup>2</sup> g<sup>–1</sup> and abundant active sites (graphitic N and thiophenic S), achieving an exceptional norfloxacin (NOR) removal efficiency of 97.16% and a mineralization efficiency of 49.30% within 90 min. Mechanistic studies identified graphitic N and thiophenic S as key active sites, and revealed that the degradation was dominated by non-radical pathways, specifically singlet oxygen (<sup>1</sup>O<sub>2</sub>) and electron transfer (total contribution > 84%). Furthermore, NSPC-700 demonstrated excellent practical potential: it maintained an 89.00% NOR removal efficiency in a continuous-flow system over 5 h and retained a 90.36% removal efficiency after five consecutive cycles. This work highlights the innovative use of intrinsic sulfur-source biomass to transform into a value-added carbon catalyst, offering a green, sustainable strategy for antibiotic wastewater remediation.","PeriodicalId":57226,"journal":{"name":"意象","volume":"1 1","pages":"0-0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147332452","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
