It is detected by thermal imaging control. The result is thermal images of working electrical equipment – thermograms, which are analyzed using a visual assessment. However, in order to reduce the human factor in processing a large number of thermograms taken from unmanned aerial vehicles, the development of an automated defect recognition system has been proposed. The paper presents the results of recognizing defects in electrical equipment with artificial convolutional neural networks (CNN). It is proposed to use the learning transfer mechanism, the SqueezeNet architecture to classify thermograms into two classes: with a defect and without a defect. To assess the effectiveness of classification, the following metrics are proposed: sensitivity, specificity, balanced accuracy, Matthews correlation coefficient, F-measure. Testing of the trained CNN on a control sample of thermograms not used in training proves the effectiveness of the CNN in the tasks of recognizing defects in electrical equipment. The performance of the power system in response to extreme weather conditions manifests to different degrees in different regions with particular climate characteristics and with different power generation facilities. This article identifies the most vulnerable clusters of regions and assesses industrial and social damage from energy accidents caused by extreme weather. On the basis the cluster analysis of 5,380 recorded primary data about energy accidents provided by Situational Analytical Center of the Russian Ministry of Energy from 2014 to 2019, six accident groups are formed according to scale, frequency, and seasonality. The amount of electricity generated by photovoltaic plants depends on their geographical location, ambient temperature, weather conditions, the material of photovoltaic modules, as well as on the angle of incidence of the solar flux and the orientation of photovoltaic modules. The article discusses ways to improve the reliability of power supply to consumers of photovoltaic power plants, analyzes the existing principles and mechanisms that determine the optimal position of photovoltaic modules. It is proved that the best way to increase the energy efficiency of photovoltaic power plants is the use of automated solar tracking systems. The scientific and technical literature on the design, operation and modeling of tracking systems of photovoltaic plants is analyzed. The existing classifications of solar tracking systems are considered, and a new classification is proposed, which, unlike the existing one, takes into account the design of photovoltaic modules. Based on the results of the analysis of scientific and technical literature, the factors hindering the development of solar tracking systems have been identified. To eliminate these problems, a new type of controlled voltage regulator is proposed in the work instead of the well-known mechanical voltage regulators such as RPN and PBV. The results of the study of the quality of electricity and the efficiency of power supply systems in stationary and dynamic processes are presented. Integral characteristics for power supply systems with known and new controlled voltage regulators are given. The study was conducted in the Matlab environment on a model of a workshop transformer of the enterprise with an existing and proposed controlled voltage regulator with a capacity of 1000 kV·A and a voltage of 6 / 0.4 kV. The article describes the current use of gasification for waste processing and its use in thermal power plants. The review revealed the problem of waste accumulation and the complexity of developing a scheme for its processing. In this regard, the authors propose a technology for recycling waste at thermal power plants with the subsequent production of thermal and electrical energy. For the study, the types of raw materials (waste) were selected in accordance with the Rostov territorial waste management plan, which judges husk and sunflower meal waste to make the greatest energy contribution. The calculation of the thermal and the exergetic balance of the TPP-210A boiler for certain types of waste was also carried out. Graphs were constructed comparing the synthesis gas from the selected waste with natural gas and coal, as well as diagrams of exergy flows for the selected waste, natural gas, and coal. The authors showed that the gasification of solid household and agricultural waste can increase the thermal and exergetic efficiency of the boiler and replace coal and natural gas, reducing the environmental impact. It can be reached by implementing an electric drive based on two motors. The article considers the stability of the system with two-channel speed control of autonomous electric vehicles. While one channel is a \"high-torque\" drive, in which the engine is connected through a reducer with a reduction ratio, the second channel is a \"high-speed\" one, in which a similar-sized engine is connected directly. The summation of the power of the two channels is carried out by using a differential gearbox. The article shows the possibility of achieving stable operation by fixing the speed reference on one channel and regulating it on another channel and presents control algorithms. It also determines the optimal values of the gear ratio of the gearbox of the \"high-torque\" channel and the switching ratio (share in the transient process) of the high-torque channel with a minimum of the transition process time. The calculations concern a passenger car and a truck weighing up to 7.5 tons. This solution allows for increasing the dynamics of the car, expanding the range of regulation in terms of speed and torque, and improving the energy efficiency of the electrical installation as a whole. The focus of the study was an arc steel-smelting furnace of shaft type ShP-125 (85 MVA) with an ARCOS electric mode control system and a nonlinear PI impedance controller. The paper considers in detail the stages of practical application of the proposed methodology. It describes a mathematical model of the ARCOS control system with a non-linear PI impedance controller. The model was used to evaluate the current control system settings and conclude that it needs to be optimized. The developed methodology allowed for determining the new values of the coefficients of the nonlinear PI controller. They ensure the operation of the impedance control loop which is close to the technical optimum. The paper presents the results of applying the improved parameters of the ARCOS control system and the calculation of the technical effect.
