Aiming at the issues in the Resin-Rich Region (RRR) and Interfacial Transition Region (ITR) of fiber reinforced polymer composites, the characteristic Aramid Pulp (AP) fibers with micro-fiber trunk and nano-fiber branches were manufactured into multiple non-woven ultra-thin interleaving at the interlayers of BFRP composites via compression molding to reinforce the flexural strengths and elastic moduli. AP fibers were introduced into RRR to form interleaving at the interlayer, the brittle epoxy adhesive layer was improved and enabled to avoid cracking under a low external load. Free fiber branches of AP were also embedded into BF layer to construct quasi-vertical fiber bridging behaviors in ITR, stronger mechanical interlocking was created to prevent crack propagation along the bonding interface of BF/epoxy. Three-point bending testing results showed the interleaving film with 4 g/m<sup>2</sup> AP exhibited the best effect among various areal densities and yielded average 315.75 MPa in flexural strength and 21.38 GPa in elastic modulus, having a 63.4% increment and a 47.1% increment respectively compared with the bases. Overall, the simple and low-cost AP interleaving is confirmed as an effective method in improving interlayer structure and flexural performance of BFRP composites, which may be considered to manufacture high-performance laminated fiber reinforced polymer composites in civil aviation industry.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":55631,"journal":{"name":"Chinese Journal of Aeronautics","volume":"36 12","pages":"Pages 477-488"},"PeriodicalIF":5.7,"publicationDate":"2023-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S100093612300362X/pdfft?md5=fefd45ec141d61d071685734e0b085b5&pid=1-s2.0-S100093612300362X-main.pdf","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135963846","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":1,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Effects on aerodynamic characteristics of a small-sweep FWA and control mechanism were investigated by numerical simulations. Finally, reverse dual synthetic jet actuators were integrated into a real FWA and flight tests were firstly carried out. Numerical results show that RDSJ could make drag coefficient increase and weaken lift coefficient, which generate a yawing moment and a rolling moment in the same direction, realizing control of heading attitudes, but strong coupling with the pitching moment occurs at large angles of attack. For control mechanism, RDSJ could produce two reverse synthetic jets out of phases, improve the reverse pressure gradient and hence form alternate recirculation zones or even early large-area separation, which cause the rise of pressures before exits and the dip of pressures behind exits, achieving improvement of drag and the yawing moment. The results of flight tests support that RDSJ could realize control of heading attitudes without deflections of rudders during the cruise stage and achieve the maximal yaw angular velocity of 10.12(°)/s, verifying the feasibility of this novel yaw effector.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":55631,"journal":{"name":"Chinese Journal of Aeronautics","volume":"36 12","pages":"Pages 151-163"},"PeriodicalIF":5.7,"publicationDate":"2023-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S100093612300208X/pdfft?md5=9a6c91cc990ab93342840bd8e84e9bfd&pid=1-s2.0-S100093612300208X-main.pdf","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48658355","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":1,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a ψ-shaped small-bore complex component with minimum curvature radius less than 3 mm. Thus, traditional polishing methods are difficult to polish it. Small ball-end magnetorheological polishing method can polish the small components with complicated three-dimensional surface and obtain non-destructive surface. Therefore, this method is suitable for polishing HSR. However, the material removal rate of the ordinary small ball-end magnetorheological polishing is low, leading to long polishing time and low output of HSR. To solve this problem, a water bath heating assisted small ball-end magnetorheological polishing method is proposed in this research. The influence rule of processing parameters on the material removal rate is studied experimentally. A set of optimal processing parameters is obtained to maximize the material removal rate. Compared with the ordinary method, the material removal rate of the new method can be improved by 143%. Subsequently, an HSR is polished by the new method. The results show that the polishing time can be reduced by 55%, and the polished surface roughness can reach 7.7 nm. The new method has the great potential to be used in actual production to improve the polishing efficiency of HSR.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":55631,"journal":{"name":"Chinese Journal of Aeronautics","volume":"36 12","pages":"Pages 451-460"},"PeriodicalIF":5.7,"publicationDate":"2023-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1000936123001553/pdfft?md5=d1fedbba2e95f90b353a4af06d6a000f&pid=1-s2.0-S1000936123001553-main.pdf","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47556182","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":1,"RegionCategory":"工程技术","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, this paper develops a high-speed Light-Emitting Diode-Induced Fluorescence (LEDIF) system based on the brightness measured directly above the liquid film. An Ultraviolet (UV) LED lamp is used to provide sufficient and continuous excitation light. Then, a system performance analysis proves that the system can continuously measure the global film thickness at a high acquisition frequency of 5000 Hz when the dye concentration is 200 mg/L. The influence of the irregularity of the excitation intensity, including the spatial non-uniformity, temporal instability, and long-term instability, on the measurement uncertainty is analyzed in detail. The analysis indicates that the system has an acceptable uncertainty of 10%. Compared with theoretical results, experimental results verify that the LEDIF system can accurately measure the global thickness of a liquid film formed by a water jet obliquely impinging onto a plate. An experimental investigation of the radial section of the raised zone demonstrates that the radial section changes from a sewing needle to an oval when the azimuth angle increases from 10° to 90°. Meanwhile, the dynamic contact angle exponentially decreases from 41.4° to 30.1°.
