Yao","doi":"10.24425/ams.2020.133197","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.24425/ams.2020.133197","url":null,"abstract":"Significant differences in the physical and mechanical properties exist between the rock masses on two sides of an ore-rock contact zone, which the production tunnels of an underground mine must pass through. Compared with a single rock mass, the mechanical behavior of the contact zone composite rock comprising two types of rock is more complex. In order to predict the overall strength of the composite rock with different contact angles, iron ore-marble composite rock sample uniaxial compression tests were conducted. The results showed that composite rock samples with different contact angles failed in two different modes under compression. The strengths of the composite rock samples were lower than those of both the pure iron ore samples and pure marble samples, and were also related to the contact angle. According to the stress-strain relationship of the contact surface in the composite rock sample, there were constraint stresses on the contact surface between the two types of rock medium in the composite rock samples. This stress state could reveal the effect of the constraint stress in the composite rock samples with different contact angles on their strengths. For this purpose, a closed, circular-shaped arch support is used, with arches overlapped by clamps that are typical for this type of construction. The support has high resistance to the impact of even (distributed over the entire surface of the support) load, however, as a result of significant deformation associated with a change in the radius of the curvatures, the support shows limited yielding capacity. This is due to the increase in resistance to slide on the locks, resulting from changes in the geometry of the ring caused by the rock mass. This article presents the results of research and analysis concerning the elements of the arch support with notches in arches. The research team tested the effect of the depth and location of the notches of the section’s flanges on the load impacting on the clamp’s bolts and the strength of the roof support. Moreover, the tests covered the influence of the number and location of clamps in a frictional joint on the change in the nature of work and yielding capacity. The paper presents the results of a research on the constants mb and s of Hoek-Brown failure criterion for the rocks surrounding the gallery: shale, sandy shale, coal and medium-grained sandstone, in relation to the distance to longwall face. The research comprised numerical modeling based on convergence monitoring records. The convergence measurements were carried out on three stations in a selected maingate in a coal mine from Upper Silesia Coal Basin near Jastrz ę bie-Zdrój, concurrently with changing distance to the longwall face. The measu- red were the width, the height and the heave of the floor of the gate. The measurements showed that the convergence at the longwall-maingate crossing was 1.5-3 times greater than in the locations much further from the longwall face. It was demonstrated that this effect was due to continuously changing properties of the rock-mass surrounding the gallery that can be expressed as decreasing empirical parameters mb i s of Hoek-Brown’s criterion. These parameters are decreasing exponentially together with the distance to the longwall face The consistency between the theoretical and factual curve varies between 70% to 98%. The change of each of the parameters can be described by general equation P = a ·exp(– b · d ), where a , b are constants, and d is the distance to the excavation face. The authors highlight that during the me- asurements period the horizontal stress was 1.45 to 1.61 times greater than the concurrent vertical stress. The influence of the ratio of the bending diameter and the volume fraction of the gas phase on the pressure loss is revealed, and the safety range of the optimum bending diameter ratio and the volume fraction of the outlet gas phase is determined. The results show that the three-phase flow in the tube is more uniformly distributed in the vertical stage, and when the pipe is curved, the liquid-phase close to the pipe wall gathers along the pipe flank to the outside of the pipe, the solid phase is transferred along the pipe flank to the inside of the pipe, and the gas phase shrinks along the pipe flank to the inner centre. The maximum speed of each phase of the three-phase flow in the elbow is at the wall of the tube from 45° to 60° inside the elbow, and the distribution law along the axial direction of the pipe is about the same as the distribution law of volume fraction. The pressure loss of the elbow decreases with the increase of the bend diameter ratio, when the bend diameter ratio increases to 6, the pressure loss of the pipe decreases sharply, and the pressure loss decreases slowly with the increase of the bend diameter ratio. Korol, Dagmara Sobczak","doi":"10.24425/ams.2021.138599","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.24425/ams.2021.138599","url":null,"abstract":"the article is the result of a project aimed at developing and implementing a design of composite accessories for support in excavations located in underground hard coal mines. the research team verified the possibility of using elements made of prefabricated composite structural profile as an alternative to steel and reinforced concrete lining elements used to improve support’s stability and protect against rockfall. this paper includes a research experiment on the possibilities of using a composite c-profile element as lining made in the pultrusion technology with a longitudinal position of the roving. the prefabricated structural profiles were adapted to the function by designing seatings for fitting the flanges for arch support’s V-profiles. Prototypes of these elements were subjected to bench tests in compliance with the guidelines for testing mesh linings. In addition, computer simulations using the finite element method were carried out. the values obtained during the tests were compared with the requirements for lightweight mesh and included the Polish standard PN-g-15050 and reinforced A-type concrete lining defined in the standard PN-g-06021. the team determined the areas where material strength exceeded and the structure was damaged. The first, theoretical part includes an analysis of the allowable dry bulb temperatures in line with the threshold values for the specified indices in case of various relative humidity and airflow velocity values. Also, the variability of the studied allowable working areas was exhibited for hypothetical extreme cases (such as an airflow of 0 m/s or the relative humidity of φ = 0%) as well as for actual conditions registered in headings. The second part consisted in the analysis of the allowable full-time working conditions for two selected cases of driving roadways. The analysis was conducted for two indices applied in the first part and complemented with an appraisal considering the dry bulb temperature (t s ) and the wet kata thermometer units (K w ). It has been exhibited that while regulating the airflow and the dry bulb temperature in the heading, significant differences in the interpretations (ranges) of safe working areas occur depending on the index that is being used. As the mining activities continue, the mine ventilation system is constantly changing. therefore, to ensure ventilation on demand, the mine ventilation network regulation and optimization are very important. in this paper, the path method based on graph theory is studied. however, the existing path algorithms do not meet the needs of actual mine ventilation regulation and optimization. therefore, in this paper, the path algorithm is optimized and improved from four aspects. First, based on the depth-first search algorithm, the independent path search algorithm is proposed to solve the problem of false paths in the independent path searched when there is a unidirectional circuit in the ventilation network. Secondly, the independent path calculation formula is amended to ensure that the number of the independent path for the ventilation network with a downcast and an upcast shaft, multi-downcast and multi-upcast shaft and unidirectional circuits is calculated accurately. thirdly, to avoid both an increase in the number of control points in the multi-fan ventilation network and disturbances in the airflow distribution by determining the reference path through all the independent paths, all the independent paths with the shared fan must be identified.
