Bruz. was found in the bays of the northern part of the Black Sea as a result of our joint efforts for clarification of some charophyte species from the region. The species was reported new to Ukraine. This is the first reliable record of this species in the Black Sea Region and Russia. In the studied populations, C. baltica had a variable arrangement of stipulodes because of the presence of extrastipulodes as a common trait. The morphology of the specimens studied may suggest a possible explanation of old uncheckable regional records of C. horrida Wahlst., species known from the Baltic Sea only. The worldwide range of C. baltica was summarised with a map according to the published records, GBIF data and some checked specimens. It highlighted the records, which need to be confirmed. The presence of extrastipulodes in the specimen studied, as well as the indication and illustration of some species of charophytes, allowed to suggest several additions to the terminology of charophyte morphology useful for further studies. La morfologia y morfometria de las valvas de ambos morfotipos son similares y solo se diferencian por la forma y patron de estriacion del centro valvar y por la disposicion de la base de los brazos. Sobre la base de material depositado en la Coleccion Diatomologica de la Universidad de Concepcion, Chile, se observo y fotografio las caracteristicas morfologicas de este taxon en los microscopios fotonico y electronicos. Se utilizan los datos publicados por Donoso (1993) y Donoso et al. (1993) sobre produccion de semillas de especies arboreas en dos sitios (correspondientes a los tipos forestales Siempreverde y Alerce) para periodos de 10 y 7 anos, respectivamente. Se encontro evidencia de mayor variacion en la produccion de semillas en el sitio (tipo forestal Alerce) que se encuentra a mayor altitud. En cambio, no hubo diferencia significativa entre especies anemofilas y especies entomofilas. En ninguno de los dos sitios hubo sincronizacion interanual significativa entre las especies del ensamble. Sin embargo, se encontro una correlacion positiva en la produccion anual de semillas entre las poblaciones de Drimys winteri de los dos sitios. La precipitacion acumulada de verano, y especialmente las temperaturas de verano y de invierno, estarian relacionadas con la produccion de semillas de algunas de las especies estudiadas en ambos tipos forestales. Davies & Till-Bottraud (Asteraceae: Mutisieae), previamente conocida cerca del limite superior de la vegetacion (> 3900 m) en el lado este de la Cordillera de los Andes en la provincia de San Juan, Argentina, es citada para Chile en base a seis colecciones recogidas en la Cordillera de los Andes de la III Region (Region de Atacama) entre 3500-4000 m. La especie nueva para la flora de Chile esta basada en Chaetanthera pulvinata (Phil.) Hauman var. acheno-hirsuta Tombesi, aqui elevada al nivel de especie. Chaetanthera acheno-hirsuta pertenece al subgenero Egania. Sus parientes mas cercanos, basado en caracteristicas morfologicas, son C. apiculata (J.Remy) Benth. & Hook.f. and C. acerosa (J. Remy) Benth. & Hook.f. Se distingue de C. pulvinata (Phil.)
