Annual\u0000 precipitation increased significantly throughout the WB (from 2% to 8% per\u0000 decade) on 20% of stations located mainly in the mountainous western Serbia\u0000 and eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina. Winter was characterized by\u0000 non?significant precipitation changes in most of the studied area, with only\u0000 a few stations characterized by significant precipitation increase (up to\u0000 12% per decade) in the mountainous area of WB, and a few stations\u0000 characterized by significant decrease (up to -6% per decade) in the\u0000 Pannonian plain. Significant precipitation increase was noticed on 15% of\u0000 the stations in spring, while it was noticed on 17% of the stations in\u0000 autumn. Summer precipitation decreased significantly (up to -5% per decade)\u0000 on a limited area of northern Serbia (6% of the stations), while the\u0000 majority of stations showed non?significant increase. The strongest\u0000 influences on annual precipitation in WB region are of the Arctic\u0000 Oscillation (AO) and Mediterranean Oscillation (MO), leading to the\u0000 precipitation decrease during their positive phases. Winter precipitation is\u0000 significantly negatively correlated with AO, East Atlantic/Western Russia\u0000 oscillation (EA/WR), and North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) and has a\u0000 significant positive correlation with Western Mediterranean Oscillation\u0000 (WeMO) on the majority of stations. MO has the strongest influence on summer\u0000 precipitation in WB region leading to precipitation decrease, while AO has\u0000 the dominant influence on precipitation in the region during autumn.

This paper presents the results of quantitative research regarding testing the central hypothesis where education is the predicting variable of public perception of climate change and its impact on natural disasters. A multivariate regression analysis was used, identifying the extent of the total scores of the main dependent variables (perception of vulnerability to climate change, perception of the climate change impact on natural disasters, knowledge and fear scores) were associated with five demographic and socio?economic variables: gender, age, marital status, education level, and employment status. A series of 208 face?to?face interviews were conducted during the beginning of 2020 on the central squares in the selected cities in Serbia, Belgrade (76.92%) and Sremska Mitrovica (23.08%). The results showed that education level was the most effective predictor of the mentioned research variables. Besides, employment status has been found to affect perceptions of vulnerability, while age affects the perceptions of climate change. Based on the obtained results, policies and strategies to improve people's awareness of climate change must take into account a comprehensive understanding of behavioral dispositions.

The epicenter of this earthquake was Kanchanbari\u0000 located in the Dhalai district of Tripura. The present study aims to assess\u0000 the environmental and socio-economic impact of this earthquake in the\u0000 vicinity of the epicenter. To assess and determine the level of damage, the\u0000 affected areas were visited during the first week of the 2017 earthquake.\u0000 Various Government offices were also consulted to acquire data on damages\u0000 caused by the earthquake. Moreover, Remote Sensing and Geographical\u0000 Information System (RS & GIS) techniques were applied to address the\u0000 influence of this earthquake on bank erosion. During the field visit, the\u0000 striking features of soil liquefaction generated by the earthquake were\u0000 observed in the flood plain area of the Manu River. Landslide, with three\u0000 casualties in India and the neighbor Bangladesh, and damages of\u0000 infrastructure were also reported. Additionally, an assessment of the bank\u0000 erosion study revealed that the rate of the post-earthquake bank erosion\u0000 increased to 592%, compared to the pre-earthquake bank erosion within the\u0000 study length of the Manu River. The findings highlighted that the impact of\u0000 this earthquake is minimal. However, the seismotectonic features and\u0000 observation of the liquefaction within the risk zone of the earthquake\u0000 indicate a possible significant threat for the future.

One of the aims of this study is to analyze spatial\u0000 relations between the nodal regions and to determine (calculate) the level\u0000 of polycentricity in the region of Vojvodina (Northern Serbia). By\u0000 quantifying spatial relations in the region (using selected methods), we\u0000 pointed out the relevance of regional development policies, i.e., the extent\u0000 to which the proposed measures for reducing regional inequalities are in\u0000 line with the direction of contemporary spatial relations in the region of\u0000 Vojvodina. We have used four different methodological tools: rank-size rule,\u0000 urban primacy index, index of functional centrality, and commuting patterns\u0000 (levels of functional dependence). The obtained results identified the\u0000 existence of morphological polycentricity, but also the growing domination\u0000 of the cities of Novi Sad and Belgrade in regulating and managing spatial\u0000 and functional relations in the region of Vojvodina. These results are not\u0000 completely in line with the development directions declared in the strategic\u0000 documents. In order to expand the tourist offer of Novi Sad (northern Serbia), one thematic route that promotes a part of the literary heritage was created. The aim of this study was to analyze the given literary route from a tourist perspective, checking out whether this route was created in a way that would satisfy its users. For this purpose, an experiment was conducted in which 50 students of tourism were divided into two simulated tours with a specialized tour guide. They were asked to use the ArcGIS application installed on their mobile phones to fill up a questionnaire about the literary route while moving through the selected checkpoints in the city center. The results provided answers to the questions like: whether the attractions of the given localities that the route links are properly selected, whether the thematic tour is good regarding the attraction order and whether it is in line with the growth of emotions of joy and positive surprise, which segments on the route should be improved in order to increase its quality, whether the route contributes to the tourist satisfaction that will create a desire for a route recommendation, and whether the route is appropriate to be offered to tourists, as well as to the locals. According to the preliminary results, the authors gave recommendations for the route improvement before its implementation on the tourist market.

Comparatively new method of influencing to a customer is branding, has been the most significant process in terms of promotion, which identify features of exact territory in contribution of competitive activities for being attractive for tourists. The article is aimed to identify the existing and promising tourist brands of Western Kazakhstan. Since territorial branding is a key factor in the development of tourism industry, the authors conducted a survey among respondents from different regions of Kazakhstan to identify potential tourist brands, main associations, as well as challenges and opportunities for recreation and tourism. The research was carried out using the Google Forms platform and sociological survey. The research results prove that there are unofficial leading brands in the region, which are likely to become the region?s official tourist symbols. Besides, both favorable and unfavorable factors for recreation demonstrate the controversial development of tourism industry in the research area. Creation, development, and promotion of a tourist brand plays an important role in the tourism and recreation area. This contributes to strengthening the tourist destination image in the tourism market.

The spatial framework of the research includes five settlements in the vicinity of Special Nature Reserve ?Carska Bara? (Northern Serbia). For the purpose of this research, they are classified into two groups, based on their distance from the fundamental phenomenon. The demographic characteristics analyses of the study area include basic demographic determinants such as population structures and migration characteristics. Population data related to the change in the number of inhabitants and the types of the total population movement were collected and analyzed, and a comparative analysis of the aging index was performed as well. In order to better understand the condition of the economic structure, the economic activity, and the structure of the active population performing occupation were analyzed by activity sections. The current state of the social infrastructure (schools, primary health care facilities, pharmacies, post offices, sports, and recreation facilities) was also considered, as one of the qualities of life indicators of the local population. The obtained results indicate an unfavorable demographic picture of the analyzed areas. These are smaller population areas, predominantly inhabited by population of the old age groups. Although they are in protected areas which, in the context of tourism, are abounding in natural potentials, but without implementing significant steps and certain measures, no progress and improvement of the demographic condition can be expected.

Those aspects are revealed, on one hand, while analyzing the type of regional development (intensive or extensive), and on the other hand, from the standpoint of the center-peripheral model. An assessment of the sectoral structure of employed people in the economy of the region and the population density are also used to identify the development type. The combination of these approaches makes it possible to identify the regional capacity for innovations diffusion and knowledge spillover. The aim of the research is to assess regional differences in the economy sectoral structure for identifying the innovative and extensive types of Russian regions. There are other methods used in the research as well: cartographic analysis, structural-sectoral analysis, and typology. The types of regions characterized by disproportions of intensive and extensive development have been identified. Measures are proposed to realize the regional economic potential. The issues of the territorial transformation of the settlement system and economic space are discussed. Further research is associated with an extended analysis of intensive development factors and cross-county comparison of the factors of innovations diffusion intensity and knowledge spillover.
