The aim of this note is to study its long-time asymptotics on Riemannian symmetric spaces G / K of noncompact type and of general rank. This amounts to the behavior of solutions to the heat equation subject to the Doob transform induced by the ground spherical function. We use a spectral collocation method based on Lucas polynomials for time fractional derivatives and a finite difference scheme in space. Stability and error analyses of the proposed technique are established. To demonstrate the reliability and efficiency of our new technique, we applied the method to a number of examples.
