De l’une a l’autre, les correspondances sont nombreuses, mais pas au point d’en faire de vrais synonymes. Objet seriel en meme temps qu’objet de collection, le roman-photo offre une belle occasion de reflechir aux ressemblances et dissymetries des deux concepts et des deux pratiques. Dans le contexte du roman-photo, la production de la serie et celle de la collection obeissent a des logiques differentes. Autant le medium du roman-photo obeit a la logique serielle et ses plus lourdes contraintes (en l’occurrence : conception et realisation de l’œuvre sous forme de feuilleton, cadence de production elevee, conformite absolue aux regles narratives et stylistiques du melodrame herite des romans du 19e siecle) autant il se conjugue mal avec le principe de la collection, que certains editeurs essaient de mettre en avant comme signe de distinction, sans trop de succes toutefois, dans le cas de l’ancetre du roman-photo, le roman dessine. {"title":"Genèse et circulations d’un genre populaire en régime médiatique : le cas du Country Noir","authors":"Alice Jacquelin","doi":"10.4000/belphegor.3803","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.4000/belphegor.3803","url":null,"abstract":"Si l’expression « Country Noir » a ete inventee en 1996 par l’ecrivain etasunien de romans noirs, Daniel Woodrell, pour sous-titrer son roman Give Us a Kiss, a Country Noir, l’etiquette ne devient prolifique que dans les annees 2010. Le Country Noir, qui releve de la fiction criminelle situee en milieu rural, est un genre qui se construit mediatiquement selon trois modalites. L’expression est d’abord reprise par l’interdiscours mediatique dans une forme de negociation discursive entre les differents acteurs du champ culturel. Elle est ensuite transformee en etiquette dans les strategies de communication des maisons d’edition francaises qui participent ainsi de sa legitimation. Enfin, elle se consolide dans la circulation transnationale, entre la France et les Etats-Unis, d’œuvres intermediales sur des supports textuels et visuels tels que le roman policier, le cinema et les series televisees.
