The performance of a MIMO communication system is assessed using antenna selection techniques (AST) over the Weibull-Gamma fading (WGF) channel. The channel state information on the transmitter side (CSIT) can be utilised to improve the system capacity and error rate at the same time with reduced complexity of the hardware. The CSIT in AST is used for OSTBC of the MIMO system over the WGF channel to improve the bit-error rate (BER) of the system. The SNR performance improvement is discussed over Weibull and gamma fading parameters. The proposed antenna overcomes the limitations of the Conventional Microstrip Patch Antenna (CMPA) like low gain, less Front-to-Back Ratio (FBR) and more spurious radiation by the ground plane by a simple alteration in the antenna geometry. Its performance is mainly based on the opening angle (D) between the two arms of the antenna. Because the near-field interactions between the two arms are stronger at smaller opening angles, the current and scattering field amplitude are expected to be maximum. Therefore, for D<90° the antenna parameters like gain and directivity are improved and standing waves are suppressed in the proposed antenna. Data are individual packets or units of information which on process leads to a useful information which intend helps in decision making. So these data are to be shared among the multiple user devices and we come across some of the most commonly used transmission media. Currently, Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) is dominating over other media because of its ease of remote accessing methods without any physical connection. But these do have some loopholes, as they have limited speed of transmission or very low bit rate. So in order to overcome these drawbacks we come up with an emerging concept where the speed of transmission can be enhanced up to 100 Gbps with the help of light as the source of transmission, called Light-Fidelity (Li-Fi). Li-Fi range is of large bandwidth that enables the communication in radiofrequency areas and shows data transmission efficiently.
