A metamaterial (MTM) split-ring resonator operating in the lower ISM band at 0.9 GHz is added to the proposed implantable antenna in order to obtain a dual-band frequency result of 0.9 and 2.45 GHz. Some methods of miniaturization are used in the design of the proposed antennas, such as the addition of a MTM resonator to the antenna, the use of the Roger 3010 with its high permittivity, the shorting pin to connect the patch and the ground plane, and slot shapes. To check the presence of the MTM, the permeability is extracted by the Nicolson method. A high-frequency structure stimulator is used to design and simulate the proposed antenna in free space, one-layer, and three-layer tissue models.
