Its machinability index is very low (0.66) when compared to other steels; hence, electrical discharge machining is used. The input parameters are current, spark gap, and dielectric pressure. Each input parameter is considered for three levels. Therefore, the total number of experiments is 3 × 3 × 3 = 27. To reduce the number of runs, Taguchi L9 orthogonal array is used, which have the advantage of maximum and minimum trial runs in its design. The output response is metal removal rate (MRR). To find the best operating parameter, the regression model generated using ANOVA is given as input for MATLAB genetic algorithm (GA). The experimental results indicated that models are significant. The test result indicated that the contribution of the current on the MRR is 42.42%, dielectric pressure is 35.36%, and spark gap is 1.93%. From GA, it is observed that among these three factors, lower value of current and dielectric pressure produced the maximum MRR. The SS 2205 has wide variety of applications, such as high pressure components and control valves, which have large number of components attached to it. Laplace transform technique has been applied to obtain the expressions for lateral deflection, axial stress, axial displacement, volume fraction field, and temperature distribution. The resulting quantities are recovered in the physical domain by a numerical inversion technique. Variations of axial displacement, axial stress, lateral deflection, volume fraction field, and temperature distribution with axial distance are depicted graphically to show the effect of porosity and laser intensity parameter. The governing equations fitted with boundary conditions were solved using the finite volume method, and the SIMPLE algorithm for the coupling velocity-pressure. The two-equation model k-ϵ was used to describe the turbulence phenomenon. The effects of wave numbers and the amplitude of wavy fins heat sink on the thermal and flow fields are studied and compared with the plate fin heat sink (PFHS). We were based ourselves on experimental tests which have been carried out to characterize the material studied, introducing the ductility or fragility of the bead welded section, and understood the effect of crosshead speeds on the mechanical behavior of the weld bead. The experimental results of the welded specimens are compared with those corresponding to the base material. In the interest of maximizing the growth condition for the production of single crystals, nucleation parameters such as interfacial energy (σ), volume free energy (ΔGv), critical energy barrier for nucleation (ΔG*), radius of the critical nucleus (r*) and nucleation rate (J) were determined from the classical nucleation theory of solubility-enthalpy relation. The optimized geometry of the compound was computed from the DFT-B3LYP gradient calculations employing 6-31G(d,p) basis set and its vibrational frequencies were evaluated. Manufacturing of natural fiber composite is easy as compared to the conventional methods. In the present scenario, due to an increasing interest in environmental consciousness with greenhouse effect, various industries have initiated the use of eco-friendly materials and are replacing hazardous materials with such eco-friendly materials. The present work aims to determine the tensile strength of okra and jute fibers reinforced in Epoxy LY-556 and XIN-100IN Resins. Okra fibers are developed from the stem of the plant of the Malvaceae family. Their use as reinforcement in polymer composites requires the basic knowledge of their mechanical properties. Jute fibers are developed from the best jute plants. The matrix material chosen in this study was AA7050 and the reinforcement material was ZrSiO4. The composites AA7050, AA7050-10%ZrSiO4, and AA7050-15%ZrSiO4 were used. The wear behavior of the aluminum matrix composites was investigated by using pin-on-disc tribometer. The advanced material has substantial development in tribological behavior when the reinforcement percentage is increased. There is considerable need to control and reduce pressure pulsation in pipelines supplied with pulsating flows. The use of a Helmholz resonator introduces an additional degree of freedom to the analysed dynamic system. Building on previous experimental investigations by the authors, which identified the nonlinear properties of straight pipes supplied with pulsating flows, this study describes an experimental test rig, measurement methods and mechanical analogies for one (1DOF) and two (2DOF) degrees of freedom. The results are presented in the form of a 3D map of amplitude-frequency characteristics, as a function of the resonator volume determined by piston height.
