This study intends to examine the influence of three Indian meditation practices, i.e., Vipassana mindfulness meditation, Raja Yoga and Sudarshan Kriya Yoga, by employing a cross-sectional design. 168 healthy adults - 84 meditators (n=28 for each practice) and 84 non-meditators – had voluntarily participated. Meditators reported significantly higher subjective well-being (satisfaction with life, positive affect), psychological well-being (flourishing), presence of meaning in life, and character strengths (hope, gratitude, curiosity, zest and love), and significantly lower negative affect as compared to non-meditators. The medium to large effect sizes (Cohen’s d: .572 to .955), except for zest, were marked with a significant association (r: |.245 to .487|, p <.05) with the duration pof meditation, thereby signifying enhanced benefits of sustained practice. 60.2% of the variance in flourishing was explained by satisfaction in life, positive affect, hope, gratitude and presence of meaning. These evidence-based universal practices accessible across the globe and acceptable to people of all ages and backgrounds are worthy targets of rigorous research, adoption at the workplace and widespread dissemination to further SDG 3 – ‘Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.","PeriodicalId":53527,"journal":{"name":"Purushartha","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46534101","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It also envisages higher education institutions with motivated, skilled, and focused faculty members who are capable of providing quality teaching-learning process as well as engaged in visible and relevant research. Also, universities are mainly meant to cater to large masses, conduct research that is of societal importance, and reach out to society through extension activities. Looking into these aspects, the quality assessment of the universities is of utmost importance for their complete development. The overall progress of universities will depend upon the formulation and implementation of policies leading to a better teaching-learning environment, infrastructure for teaching and research, mobilization of funds, excellence in research, and extension activities. Uniformity in the evaluation of the quality of the universities requires taking all these factors into consideration. National Assessment and Accreditation Council, which evaluates the quality of higher education institutions in India, grades the universities based broadly on these criteria. In this paper, we attempt to analyze the accreditation of universities based on their grades obtained in various criteria set by NAAC. We have also tried to find the correlation of some of the criteria on other quality indicators.","PeriodicalId":53527,"journal":{"name":"Purushartha","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42983405","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Though the primary perspective continues to be the empowerment of the self, yet the process of self -actualization is largely dependent on a number of other factors including the complex interplay of societal forces and factors. The study of tribal women in the state of Jharkhand, India, provides incisive and rare insights to the process of women empowerment. Studied from the perspective of a women led cooperative society that sought to provide increased income to its members through poultry farming, the study provides a fascinating glimpse to the subsequent changes in the inter personal relationship and self-esteem among the women members..","PeriodicalId":53527,"journal":{"name":"Purushartha","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43436679","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study finds that perceived risk is the most dominating factor that negatively affects the intention to adopt fintech products and services by farmers globally. Perceived risk and security are the major concerns to adopt fintech services. Other dominating factors are perceived usefulness, trust, perceived ease of use, convenience and social influence. Attitude, perceived risk, perceived value and user innovativeness are the significant mediators used in the literature. Demographic factors like age, gender and experience are the major moderators that strongly affected the association between drivers of fintech and intention to use it. The study also offers a new conceptual framework to enhance adoption of fintech products and services by farmers globally.","PeriodicalId":53527,"journal":{"name":"Purushartha","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42560478","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It has predominantly gained impetus in the developing countries; with nations like India imposing legislative mandates (Subramaniam et al. 2017). India has an extensive history of CSR (Sundar, 2000) but lacks academic depth and understanding of the phenomenon (Dhanesh, 2015); particularly in the post mandatory regime. This extensive exploratory research based on the managerial perspective utilizes semi-structured interviews of 28 CSR managers responsible for implementing CSR within corporates. Thematic analysis of interview data identifies 4 unique approaches adopted by Indian companies and their resultant benefits. It is indeed one of the first researches in India done in both Public Sector Undertaking (PSUs) as well as the Private Enterprises. The study strengthens the existing knowledge base and assists corporates to build their CSR strategies and furthers understanding of companies’ objectives of social development.","PeriodicalId":53527,"journal":{"name":"Purushartha","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42918764","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Results imply that with the increase in the volume of all the respective electronic payment systems the currency in circulation (in physical form) got minimized in the economy. Moreover, NEFT shows much higher influence on currency in circulation as compare to RTGS and IMPS but PPI’s shows the highest influence on currency in circulation from the selected E-Payment systems. Furthermore, Vector Autoregressive model suggests, RTGS, IMPS, NEFT, CARDS (POS), PPI’s, M-Banking are expected to increase whereas NACH is expected to observe a downfall in the near future.","PeriodicalId":53527,"journal":{"name":"Purushartha","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47830647","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Johansen Co-integration test is applied to check the level of integration, which is further checked by multivariate granger causality showing the causality pattern among the indices. GARCH (1,1) model is applied to examine the volatility spillover effect on the Indian Stock Market. The findings suggest that the series are co-integrated with one vector ‘v,’ which is confirmed by the Trace and Max-Eigen Test. The Multivariate Granger Causality test confirms the bivariate causal pattern between India and US markets, implying the dual effect. In contrast, the Luxembourg market is relatively exogenous, which gives investors an opportunity for portfolio diversification. ARCH term is significant in the GARCH (1,1) model showing that the past innovation in the time series leads to the present fluctuation in the Indian stock market. Also, the results show a significant spillover effect from the US and UK markets. Thus, this will assist the investors that by concentrating on the movement of these markets, they can take specific actions regarding portfolio management.","PeriodicalId":53527,"journal":{"name":"Purushartha","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43479664","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A solution to this lies in transitioning from consuming conventional to eco-friendly products which have the least adverse impact on the environment. This study has attempted to identify the factors that determine or impact this sustainable consumption. Drawing conclusions from the extant literature, this study has listed all the determinants of sustainable consumption studied by researchers in different parts of the world in the last decade. Thirty-two factors, segregated into five broad categories viz. Endogenous, Exogenous, Situational, Product Attributes, and Demographic have been identified. It is clear that the factors work individually or in combination with each other to impact sustainable consumption behaviour, directly or indirectly, and sometimes act as moderating and mediating variables. This study shall provide pointers for future research to understand consumer behaviour concerning green products. The findings of this comprehensive study shall guide marketers and policymakers in formulating strategies to promote green consumption, in any part of the world. This paper is divided into four sections. The first section gives an introduction and lists out the research questions which the authors have attempted to answer in this study. The second section outlines the research methodology used. All the factors or determinants have been discussed in the third section. The paper concludes by giving future research prospects the current study opens up and its contribution in the form of policy recommendations.","PeriodicalId":53527,"journal":{"name":"Purushartha","volume":"64 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68457925","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a mixed method study based on primary and secondary source of information using observation, discussion, and survey methods. A random sample opinion was raised using structured questionnaire on a five point scale in validating the findings as measures to coping with COVID crises. Mean, Standard Deviation, and Correlation measures were used. Majority of respondents (70% and above) have shown their agreement with a mean response of 4.14 on a five point scale about all the scriptural injunctions as measures to cope with COVID’19 crises. A moderate degree of positive association was found between spirituality as best means of recouping back from COVID crises and COVID’19 crises management based on Indian Vedic Scriptural Injunctions. Findings state that the path of perfection gives the strength of life to conquer any kind of material problem whether it is an economic or non-economic in nature. Spirituality can help us to overcome COVID crises as it is the most auspicious thing on this planet of earth. It can be presumed that the spirituality is one of the best ways of managing the COVID crises.","PeriodicalId":53527,"journal":{"name":"Purushartha","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43082802","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
