In addition, it will also conduct an assessment of changes to indicators over time, following works. The analysis focused on the impact of regulatory works on the qualitative composition of aquatic plant communities, as well as parameters of the river bed and its coastal (littoral) zone. The study finds that several biological indicators can function as a measure of impact in relation to regulatory works. These indicators are the number of species, the degree of bottom coverage, the Shannon-Wiener diversity index, the Pielou equality indicator and the species shortage indicator. This study concludes that river regulation can affect aquatic flora, and that the above listed biological indicators may be useful in assessing levels of impact.","PeriodicalId":53324,"journal":{"name":"Inzynieria Ekologiczna","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"66167126","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper proposes an improvement of the method of accelerated recovery of the degraded territory of industrial sites of abandoned mines with simultaneous purification of pumped mine waters through the use of an airlift unit that will allow to regulate the temperature of the water produced from the heat exchangers. The depth of placement of the airlift installation was determined by calculation. In order to maintain the temperature of the water in the bioplate system in winter at the level of 10–12 °C, mine water having a temperature of 34 °C must be supplied from the lower trunk of the airlift located at a depth of 800 m. To cool the water in the bioplato system to 25 °C in summer, the mine water with a temperature of about 13 C must be pumped out from the top of the shaft of the airlift to a depth of 120 m.","PeriodicalId":53324,"journal":{"name":"Inzynieria Ekologiczna","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48233279","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The conducted studies were based on bioindication methods. Within the ecotoxicological analyses the biotest battery was used. The scope of the analysis included determination of influence of anthropogenic pollutants present in Kłodnica river on growth of hydroponic plant (Lemna minor). Also the acute toxicity test using crustacean (Daphnia magna) and bioluminescence bacteria (Vibrio fischeri) were performed. Toxic effects were observed only during the phytotoxicity test in which the plant growth inhibition level exceed respectively 25% and 50%. During the research no other toxic effects of analysed river water samples was observed. The analysed samples did not affect the inhibition of metabolic process of bacteria Vibrio fischerii, on the contrary, the water high salinity stimulate it. During the MICROTOX® test the phenomenon of hormesis was observed.","PeriodicalId":53324,"journal":{"name":"Inzynieria Ekologiczna","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48608286","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The analysis covered soil samples taken from playgrounds and sports fields in Sosnowiec. In the mineralized samples, the content of lead, cadmium and zinc was determined using optical emission spectometry. Soil contamination in the studied recreation areas is very diverse. From among selected recreational facilities, over 70% is characterized by heavy metals in concentrations exceeding the limit values, regulated by the Regulation of the Minister of the Environment. The highest concentrations of Cd, Pb and Zn were recorded at the level more than 2000% higher than the permitted values. The research showed the necessity of chemical control of the materials used in the construction of recreational places in order to reduce the exposure of children and teenagers using playgrounds and sport fields to heavy metals in non-dietary way.","PeriodicalId":53324,"journal":{"name":"Inzynieria Ekologiczna","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"66167032","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To meet the users’ needs, more and more new coal-fired power plant units are being launched. This causes the release of significant amounts of carbon dioxide and other environmental-damaging compounds into the atmosphere. To limit this practice, we need to start using as much as possible renewable energy sources such as wind, solar radiation, midland water energy, geothermal energy etc. The purpose of the work was to analyze the potential of the Lublin Province for the production of electricity from renewable sources. This work presents the data such as average solar radiation, wind speed or river water flow in the region of Lublin. Based on this information’s, calculations of theoretical power that could be obtained from these sources. The results obtained show how a small area in relation to the entire Lubelskie Voivodeship could be used to build power plants using renewable sources to meet the demand for electricity.","PeriodicalId":53324,"journal":{"name":"Inzynieria Ekologiczna","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49607596","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the reclamation practice, three methods of afforestation were applied: „pioneer species”, „biodynamic species” and „main species”. They differ in their share in the species composition of afforestation of phytomelioration species, mainly of the alder type, and the scope of mineral fertilization, in particular nitrogen fertilization. The assessment of the effectiveness of these methods based on the results of quantitative studies of the organic carbon content and total nitrogen in the humus levels of initial soils formed in post-mining areas under afforestation. These factors can be considered the most dynamic indicators of transforming fallow lands into the soil. The rate of their transformation, in the case of forest reclamation, depends mainly on the share in the composition of afforestation of the alder.","PeriodicalId":53324,"journal":{"name":"Inzynieria Ekologiczna","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48279450","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sources of waste formation and methods of their processing into fertilizers are presented. Individual processing technologies and their advantages and disadvantages are discussed. It was pointed out that direct application of many types of waste for soil fertilization is problematic due to their unfavorable physical and chemical properties as well as uneven organic matter and nutrient content. It was found that the most advantageous technology for the production of fertilizers from waste is their processing in the form of granules or pellets. As a result of fertilizing soils with wastes produced from wastes, it is possible to achieve significant improvement of physical and chemical properties of arable soils, increasing the pH of organic matter, increasing clay content in the soil, and increasing the macro and micronutrients available to plants.","PeriodicalId":53324,"journal":{"name":"Inzynieria Ekologiczna","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47559634","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
