The article reveals theoretical and methodological principles of research of the main component of economic security, i.e., investment, and provides a retrospective analysis of foreign and domestic approaches to understanding the essence of investment security. The emphasis is made on changing the paradigm of the national and economic security studies and the way the issues of national and economic security components are addressed in the context of globalization. The main threats to the investment security at the present stage of the global development are identified. The intricate structure, complexity, uniqueness and individuality of the national economy investment model are investigated, its features and structural elements are explored. Activity of the investment security model of national economies, in which the constituent elements are constantly in dynamic, moving state, is shown. The main indicators of investment security in Ukraine that the authors use to prove the secure state of the investment model are reviewed and calculated. The effect of attracting investment from European countries, which manifests itself not only in increasing investment volumes, but also in improving the interaction between Ukraine and the EU countries on the basis of implementation of the Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement, is shown. The indicators of GDP and foreign direct investment in the national economy, the volume of attracted investment into the national economy from the EU countries have been analysed, and the slowdown of economic growth and factors influencing this situation have been identified. It is noted that Ukraine has serious needs for investment and financing of its needs, which requires the mobilization of significant international resources to support macroeconomic stability. The most realistic scenario of attracting foreign direct investment from the EU countries for the prospect, considering the current state and stage of development of the world economy is modified. Quantitative and qualitative factors influencing the attraction of European direct investment have been identified and summarized, among which the level of inflation, consumption level and external debt, which have the greatest influence on the growth of European investment, and on the basis of this the model was constructed using the","PeriodicalId":53313,"journal":{"name":"International Economic Policy","volume":"189 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77380346","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is substantiated that the global stage of transnationalism of business activity has led to the formation of a qualitatively new matrix of the ratio of the two main production resources – asset and labour – which is manifested in the increasing asymmetry between the national and social nature of the expanses on the reproduction of the transnational labour power and the international private monopoly nature of appropriation of the results of its work. Global vectors of domination in corporate strategies of asset and production monopolization of mergers and acquisitions as the most effective form of concentration and centralization of MNCs` asset, as well as strengthening of their global competitive leadership in the relevant segments of the world market are revealed. The main instruments for provision of MNCs` global competitive leadership of the leading countries of the world under the conditions of formation of a multipolar world order format – increase of financially reliable consumer and investment demand in the parent companies' countries, mechanisms of \"soft power\" and economic diplomacy towards hosting countries, widespread use of outsourcing and offshore business activity mechanisms, non-competitive status of the dollar and the euro as key reserve currencies and asset accumulation currencies, bringing to the breaking point of the system of monopolistic exploitation of global resources through artificial growth of global demand and overconsumption of material, financial and intellectual resources are specified. The scientific hypothesis concerning the acquisition of global level of socialization of production by transnational business activity substantiated by the objective, non-convertible and ongoing process of its development, which is manifested in deepening of intra-corporate division of labour power, strengthening of interconnection and interdependence of economically, functionally and geographically separated subdivisions of MNCs, which, * This article was translated from its original in Ukrainian. 1 Zhylenko Kateryna Mykolayivna — PhD, Associate Professor, Deputy Head of the Department of Travel Busines","PeriodicalId":53313,"journal":{"name":"International Economic Policy","volume":"105 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80702761","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The authors believe that evolutionary changes in the global economy have started a new era, which will transform the traditional world economic system. It has been established that in the conditions of transformational restructuring of the world economic system as a whole, as well as national economic systems, in particular, there is a need to change the criteria for assessing their level of economic development. It has been shown that the traditional macroeconomic indicator of the gross national product (GDP), which is still actively used as a measure of national wealth and the leading classification tool of breaking down countries into wealth groups, thus defining the conditions for their cooperation with international organizations, is limited. It is has been proved that monetary indicators are the basis for assessing the level of national wealth of countries, which allows unilaterally estimate the level of their social wealth. Proceeding from the fact that social wealth can be fully estimated taking into account its social component, the effectiveness of national economic systems is analysed on the basis of such models, namely: Pareto optimum and Nash equilibrium. It is proved that the welfare of nation should be considered as the main economic goal of the functioning of national economy. It is established that in the process of evolutionary development of the world economy, understanding of the elements of welfare has changed (replacement of physiological needs with the level of smartphone battery charge and access to WI-FI). It has been proved that economic growth (on the basis of GDP and GDP per capita) does not always lead to progress in the social sphere, which requires the use of new indicators. The article considers the economic efficiency of using social and inclusive development indices that combine economic and social components of social wealth. It is proved that alternative indicators of public wealth assessment are not free from disadvantages, which, on the one hand, are related to the complexity of calculation, and, on the other hand, the lack of a developed methodology for taking into account the whole spectrum of problems in the social sphere and the sphere of environmental protection. It has been established that the imperfection of the existing methodological instrumentarium places in question the universality of new indicators for assessing the level of public welfare. It is predicted that based on the revolutionary type of development of the world economic system, under the influence of rapid development of information technologies, indicators of assessment of the level of social welfare will be modified to meet the needs of the age. * This article was translated from its original in Ukrainian. 1 Molchanova Ellana Yuriivna — Ph.D., Associate Professor, Associate Professor at the Department of International Economics, Deputy De","PeriodicalId":53313,"journal":{"name":"International Economic Policy","volume":"12 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82401023","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The authors outline reasons for the actualization of gender issues, in particular, the features of the current stage of the world economic system’s development in the context of labour markets transformation, informatization and permanent introduction of innovations against the background of aggravated contradictions caused by structural transformations of socio-economic entities (both national and international ones), and migration flows. Contemporary gender studies have been reviewed, including those concerning the diversity and similarity of stereotypes that impede economic development and the achievement of gender equality; critical discourse on the subject of guaranteeing gender equality – equal opportunities for women and men or equality of performance; comparison of the impact of technological changes on the employment of men and women; identification of current trends in positioning women in the workplace and in leadership; features of gender policy within the EU’s educational and scientific domains; substantiation of women’s involvement in technical field of work in terms of business efficiency, etc.. On the basis of the analogy method, it is proposed to define gender equality as an objectively acceptable level (degree) of achieving and protecting the equality of men and women in the economic system of a certain taxonomic level from external and internal threats in the short term and / or providing the preconditions for achieving absolute equality in the predicted future. Six levels of gender security hierarchy are identified, namely: mega-level – global gender security; meta-level – international gender security (regional level, level of integrative entities) and transnational gender security (transnational and multinational corporations, transnational banks, etc.); macro level – gender security of the state; mesolevel – gender security of regions and sectors of economy; microlevel – gender security of the enterprise; nanolevel – gender security of the household, family and individual. A set of concepts within the framework of gender security has been developed, in particular the definition of global and international gender security, transnational gender security, gender security of the state and gender security of the individual are proposed. The authors suggest the approach to developing a set of systemized state and integration entities’ gender security indicators, which combines separate modified demographic and social security indicators, as well as the structural components of the World Economic Forum’s gender gap index, including the ratio of women and men to the mean income lower than 75 percent of the level of total income per capita; the ratio of em","PeriodicalId":53313,"journal":{"name":"International Economic Policy","volume":"49 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74809168","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to the authors, the advantages of the offshore zones at the microeconomic level turn out to be shortcomings that compromise the stability of the global economic space. The prerequisites for the emergence and evolution of offshore business at each stage of development are investigated. The authors believe that the main purpose of the emergence and development of offshore jurisdictions is discrepancy between the desire of the state to fully control the financial situation in its territory and the reluctance of citizens to be controlled and give up their profits in the form of taxes. The modern network of the offshore financial centres is generated due to the significant mobility of financial assets in general, as well as the fact that the growth rate of the global financial market significantly exceeds the growth rate of the real economy. The world trends of offshoring of financial services are analysed and the reasons for their rapid growth are revealed.
