Respondents in this study were 241 early adult individuals (aged 20-40 years). Data were collected using a researcher-modified family resilience questionnaire from the Walsh Family resilience Questionnaire (WFRQ). AIM questionnaire consisting of negative thinking and positive thinking. The flourishing questionnaire used was the Mental Health Continuum Short Form (MHC-SF; Keyes 2005, in Hone 2014). The collected data were analyzed using Model 4 of SPSS PROCESS mediation analysis (Hayes, 2018). The results showed that AIM (attention, interpretation, and memory) in the form of both positive thinking and negative thinking provides a direct role in the flourishing of early adult individuals. Positive thinking has a greater direct effect on flourishing than negative thinking on flourishing . Meanwhile, family resilience does not mediate the role of AIM (Positive thinking and negative thinking) on family resilience.","PeriodicalId":53111,"journal":{"name":"Analitika","volume":"187 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81532403","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In line with the dominant culture, most parents in Indonesia rely on their children for support in old age. Some women, however, choose to remain single and childless. This article focuses its exploration on the ways in which these unmarried, childless women plan and prepare for their lives in old age. Using the case-study approach and employing, as its theoretical framework, Seginer’s concept of future mindedness, we collected our data through semi-structured interviews with four women, aged 42 to 55, who served as research participants. After triangulating the data, we interpreted it using the thematic analysis method. Our study produced four findings. First, comfortable with being single, three of the four women had no desire to marry. Second, taking a positive view of old age, and knowing fully well that their kinfolk will take care of them in their advanced years, all the four participants do not worry about old age. Third, none of their relatives has put pressure on them to marry. Fourth, personality and family support appear to play a key role in these women’s choice to live a life of celibacy. In sum, unmarried middle-aged women are happy with their status and have plans for life in old age, including where to live and how to get elderly care.","PeriodicalId":53111,"journal":{"name":"Analitika","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79897738","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

More children around the world are born mobile ready especially kids born after 2015 (Gen Alpha). The COVID induced lockdown had robbed children of other means of entertainment and combined with the easy access to smartphones due to the online classes, the overuse of smartphones is a concept of great concern to parents. An online survey was conducted in India among parents about the usage of smartphone in their children and the parents also filled out a self-constructed questionnaire to find the levels of smartphone addiction in their children. 1330 people participated in the study and their responses were used to analyze the various factors contributing to smartphone overuse. The amount of time spent in smartphone has increased exponentially during COVID 19 induced lockdown, with 14.7% of children spending 5 - 6 hours per day and a small percentage of children (3.3%) spending more than 9 hours per day. Children who owned a smartphone and adolescent children have higher scores in the smartphone addiction scale.","PeriodicalId":53111,"journal":{"name":"Analitika","volume":"150 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76411806","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Research shows various psychological factors are involved when someone uses a cell phone excessively, such as low self-esteem. This phenomenon seems to be increasing globally. Addictive behavior related to smartphone use can be considered as part of the broader Nomophobia construct. Excessive use of smartphones is also seen by students who are in the Z generation group and are said to be digital natives. In general, students who are in the age range of 18-22 have quite an extreme dependence on smartphones and digital information using the internet. Examining this phenomenon, this study aims to determine the relationship between self-esteem and the tendency of Nomophobia in college students. This research was conducted on students in East Bekasi with a total sample of 100 male and female students. The research method uses a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The results of the correlation test between self-esteem and Nomophobia tendencies in students in East Bekasi showed a Pearson Product Moment correlation coefficient of 0.069 with a two-tailed test at a confidence level of 0.05 (5%). This means that there is no significant relationship between self-esteem and the tendency of Nomophobia among students.","PeriodicalId":53111,"journal":{"name":"Analitika","volume":"43 1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91296913","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Research on recovery after a disaster focuses on the positive outcomes by survivors. This study aims to determine the role of trauma exposure and family hardiness in developing posttraumatic growth (PTG). Participants in this study were 147 adult survivors (Musia = 23.06, SD = 4.12) spread across Palu City and Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi. PTG was measured by Posttraumatic Growth Inventory Short-Form (PTGI-SF), trauma exposure was measured by modification of the Earthquake Exposure Questionnaire and Impact of Event Scale, and family hardiness was measured by Family Hardiness Index (FHI). The hierarchical regression test found that trauma exposure and family hardiness significantly predicted 7% and 17.2% of posttraumatic growth variances when other variables were controlled. Then, the mediation test showed that family hardiness had a significant or partial role as a mediator between trauma exposure and PTG. The more trauma exposures experienced by individuals when natural disasters occurred, with a higher level of family hardiness, individuals would achieve a higher PTG condition (c = 0.759, p < 0.01) than if only considering the role of trauma exposure (c' = 0.301, p < 0.01). This shows that family hardiness is an important factor to consider when assisting liquefaction disaster survivors who are exposed to traumatic events in developing posttraumatic growth","PeriodicalId":53111,"journal":{"name":"Analitika","volume":"22 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81530124","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
