Consequently, the goal of the study was to identify the prevalence of parasitic infections among individuals with various autoimmune disorders and how such infections affect the pathophysiology of these diseases. In the current study, A total of 154 adult patients who had a confirmed diagnosis of autoimmune disease recruited from Menoufia University Hospitals, Egypt, were included. A cross-sectional study design was conducted on the participants who were chosen for history taking, clinical examination, laboratory investigations, and ultrasonography. The results revealed that intestinal parasites such as Enterobius vermicularis , Entamoeba histolytica , Giardia lamblia , and Ascaris lumbricoides were found to be prevalent in 56.5% of the subjects in this study. Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) patients had intestinal parasites in 100% of cases while parasites were present in 52.6% of autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) and 47.6% in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients. Seroprevalence of toxoplasmosis in the studied cases revealed 15.6% positive IgM and 35.1% positive IgG. The IgM-positive cases were perceived in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), Hashimoto thyroiditis (HT), and ITP. Whereas, occurrences of IgG positivity were mainly presented in SLE then AIHA, ITP, and RA patients. Less clinical manifestations were observed in autoimmune disorder patients having intestinal parasitic infections. Results: The study shows that among the 800 participants, the majority (48%) were between the ages of 20-30 years, 61% were from Wad Madani, and the rest were from various regions. In terms of education, 45% had a university-level education, and 40% completed secondary school. Around half of the women were housewives (53%), and 48% were employed. The study also shows that the overall prevalence rate of malaria during pregnancy is 20.6%. Significant associations were found between malaria prevalence and age of 20-30 years, housewife occupation, and gestational age in the second trimester. In addition, rosacea is often diagnosed in light-skinned patients and is much less evoked in patients with darker skin - as in Sub-Saharan Africa - in whom it is probably underdiagnosed. Thus, we reported two cases of D. folliculorum infestation associated with rosacea in Dakar, Senegal. The first case was a 32-year-old woman with symmetrical erythema of the cheeks, formed by superficial papulopustular lesions, evoking rosacea-like demodicosis lasting for several weeks and associated with recurrent chalazion. The second case concerns a 40-year-old man with deep, embedded, and painful papulopustular lesions located on the cheeks, the peri-oral, and peri-auricular areas less than a month ago. He presented such lesions three months ago, and more than six months ago. The two patients were sent to the parasitology and mycology laboratory in Aristide Le Dantec University Hospital for parasitological analysis which revealed adult forms of Demodex folliculorum in large quantities, associated with eggs in the second case.
